The next day, Édouard left for Wexnon with Rainard. Before leaving, he gave her a tight and warm hug to Charlotte. Unlike the previous times, his worries toward Charlotte were less.
Charlotte, after seeing off Édouard to the carriage, went to see Damien. The last night's conversation with made Charlotte realize how hard it was for Édouard to see Damien in a state he did not wish to.
Damien as soon as got informed that Charlotte visited him, he asked the servant to allow her inside. He stood from his place while Tove was a bit astonished to see this side of his. He would usually be annoyed. However, now he looked excited.
Tove lowered her head as Charlotte entered the drawing room while the servant behind her stayed outside the door.
Charlotte and Damien exchanged greetings before Damien asked her to take a seat. "Tove, you may leave," he said. Tove left the room, shutting the door behind her.
