Charlotte bit her bottom lip while her fingers moved nervously on the teacup. "Why didn't you tell me earlier? How did you find out?" She asked.
"Does that matter how I found out?" Édouard picked up the teacup and sipped the tea. He enjoyed the tea and soon finished it. Charlotte also silently drank the tea. After she finished it, she put the cups and saucers on the tray.
"You were not supposed to run away after meeting my mother. Instead, you should have come to me and told me how much you got hurt by her request. I exist because you are present before me. You do not need to think if a war starts or if a danger falls upon me. You only need to keep one thing in your mind— Édouard was always yours, is yours, and will always be yours," Édouard stated.
Charlotte's eyes turned watery and she hummed while nodding at him. "I did not want you to be angry at your mother," she said.
