Damien examined Charlotte in the afternoon after she woke up. "Princess Charlotte is recovering faster," he said and pulled his hand back. Édouard put Charlotte's sleeves down and stood straight.
"Thank you for saving my life, Damien," Charlotte said.
"How many times will Princess Charlotte thank me?" Damien asked while smiling.
"I only said it twice," Charlotte said in a low voice.
"There is no need to thank me every time I check Her Grace," Damien asserted and gazed at Édouard who looked lost. However, he didn't ask him the reason behind that grimace. He left the chamber and Zoe closed the doors from outside.
Édouard had removed the waistcoat earlier and was in the white tunic and brown breaches. He sat down on the mattress across from Charlotte, who asked him if he was alright.
