Charlotte reached the garden of the palace with a basket in her hand. A white hat covered her head which used a white wide silk ribbon attached to it.
Since it was past one in the afternoon, the sun's rays were intense.
"Let me carry the basket, Your Grace," the palace servant humbly said.
"It is not heavy," Charlotte said.
"Pardon me to disturb Your Grace," Charles voiced. Charlotte turned around and looked at him.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Your Grace, Consort Ariane is here," Charles informed her. The smile from Charlotte's lips disappeared to hear the name.
"Mathieu's mother is here?" Charlotte muttered and her eyes blinked fast because of the nervousness.
"Yes, Your Grace," Charles replied. "Consort Ariane is present in the guest room. Is the Duke in Her Grace's chamber?" He then asked.
"Édouard is sleeping. Let him rest," Charlotte said and handed the basket to the servant. She left with Charles for the guest room.
