Édouard understood Charlotte didn't want him to kiss her. He respected her choice and lowered his hand. Charlotte also pulled her finger back and then buttoned his shirt.
"You can put on your waistcoat. I think we should return," Charlotte opined and turned her back to him.
"Hmm." Édouard picked his waistcoat from the circular table and put it on. "How long are you going to resist me?" His question perplexed Charlotte and she decided not to respond.
"I am good at waiting, but it is tough sometimes. You know already how I feel for you," Édouard stated.
"Why did you put a bet with Mathieu?" Charlotte asked and turned to gaze at him.
Édouard wondered how she found out about it.
"I heard your conversation with Rainard. If you liked me at that time, then you should have confessed your feelings. You made me stuck. I am confused," Charlotte asserted.
"You heard the conversation?" Édouard asked.
