After dinner, Mr. Hokama invited Heisuke to his study room. He wanted to have a more in-depth conversation with the young man. Heisuke just agreed.
Mrs. Saeki and Hisaki stayed together in the lounge, allowing the two men to have privacy. They sat side by side on the long couch while watching the night drama playing on the TV screen.
"How's your driving class? When's the exam?"
"Kinda hard for me but, Heisuke's a pro already. He might finish the class first before me."
Mrs. Saeki burst out into laughter. Lifting up a hand, she gently caressed the top of Hisaki's head.
"Don't be discouraged. He learned to drive before he graduated high school. Heisuke just lacked the money to apply for a license."
"Yeah, he told me that too," Hisaki nibbled on the sweet fruit. She silently munched it down before bringing up a question to her mother-in-law, "Mom, seems like Uncle Yoshito is serious about Heisuke."
