Because of the alarming situation that arose, Heisuke and Hisaki decided to stay with Mrs. Saeki until the end of the visiting time. The old lady was already calm before they went back home but, neither of them could stay assured.
That night, Heisuke brought a cup of warm milk to the bedroom.
Hisaki was already curling up under the blanket. Her small head peeked out when she saw him entering with the cup. She quickly got up.
"You've worked hard today, sweet pea," Heisuke sat on the edge of the bed, giving the cup to his wife.
Hisaki took the cup with her left hand, "Darling, you too. Does Shoji work the morning shift tomorrow? You should sleep in."
Although Hisaki was aware that her husband was a healthy and fit man, she was still concerned about him. He had always been the one who bore the most burden.
"I'm fine," Heisuke smiled, "I won't open the store in a few days in New Year. Let's have a quiet time between us, en?"
