Before one in the afternoon, Hisaki and Heisuke had already dressed up in layers to combat the cold weather outside. They were going to the nursing home to visit Mrs. Saeki.
Their little matrimonial home was located in Yakajima Village.
The small village was just at the foot of the hill where the nursing home was. The hill was not very high and the roads leading there were gentle slopes.
From the cliff, the elderly of the nursing home could easily see the vast blue ocean. Although it was snowing, the snow was not harsh.
After marrying Heisuke, Hisaki changed from a permanent staff to a part-time worker. She still went to the nursing home every day but, most of the time was spent with her mother-in-law. Her assistance was only needed from time to time.
From spring to autumn, Hisaki usually cycled a bike or just walked on foot whenever she went there. But, because of the cold weather and slippery road, Heisuke insisted to drive her there every time.
