The initially light rain turned more intense. The pounding of the rainfall thrummed against the hut roof. Its sound blurred into a long, whirring noise that drowned any others. Yet, the heavy silence inside the small hut wasn't affected by the rainfall.
Hisaki saw how reluctant Heisuke was to talk about it. He kept parting his lips but, no words flowed out between them.
"You don't have to say it," Hisaki gave his hands a gentle squeeze, her gaze was calm as she looked into his eyes laced in anxiety, "I know those men are bad guys but, I also know you're not willingly associated with them."
Heisuke wrinkled his brows. The raging emotions spiraled within him, waiting to lash out. The darkening of his gaze resembled the dark sky outside.
"...no, I have to tell you this."
This was what he should have done.
And...
He had to see whether she would continue to be by his side or if her departure would come next.
