"Why aren't you eating?"
The voice pulled Heisuke back from his thoughts. What entered his eyes was the dishes on the low table. He blinked once, lifted up his gaze and absent-mindedly stared at his mother who sat opposite him.
Mrs. Saeki cast a confused look at her son. He hadn't been eating properly ever since dinner started, seemingly to reflect deeply over something. The rice in his bowl hadn't even been reduced to half.
Her son had always been a quiet young lad but, this time his silence was embroiled in something else.
What made him so deep in thought?
"Oh, I'm just thinking about something..." Heisuke resumed eating. He took a bite of rice and boiled vegetables.
Playfulness glinted in Mrs. Saeki's eyes, "Shouldn't it be about someone?"
Heisuke almost choked on his rice.
"Mom, it's not that..." He denied it in a blush. His voice turned quieter, "Hurm... Actually, there's something I need your opinion about."
