Lady Rosaria Gounarelli Mellakou, the soon-to-be Lady of Mellakou, was the late Marquess Henry Mellakou's daughter and the accused Viscountess Isabel Gounarelli, as well as a rumored Baron about whom no one speaks. She received responses from all of the Nobel laureates and royal society maids. She was sixteen when she had no debut and was always hidden. No ladies wanted to speak to her because she rarely attended high tea parties or balls and preferred to stay at the palace.
Because she was still young and powerless, the title was given to the Marquees' brother, Lord Aaron Mellakou. Though the Lord did not have the title of Marquees, he was appointed as Rosaria's guardian. She was given whatever her uncle and the Council permitted from the late Lord's wealth and was married to the Earl of the North, but after the annulment, she became the talk of the town because she was mostly rejected because of her weak body.
Rosaria, who was immuned with an incurable illness, had one problem. The Lord even bemoaned the large sum of money he'd spent because she was constantly sick in bed.
If she could have gotten better, his attitude toward her might have changed, but Rosaria had a weak body, and her frequent illnesses had gradually depleted her Uncle's love.
She had spent more time in her bed than out of it, and she had remained sick in bed while other noble children made their social debuts. The longer she was ill, the fewer visitors she received and the more time she spent alone. Many rumors circulated about her because she was a relatively unknown figure.
The Lord cursed his late brother whenever he saw her pale face and couldn't say a good word to Rosaria, branding her with insults such as "cursed child," "the witch's kid," or "the failed child."
This resulted in more gossip for the Lord, which increased his dislike for her even more.
Lord Aaron confined Rosaria to her room because he didn't want to see her blank, white face or her unkempt long red hair. Though pitied and disgusted, he knew she was the only one left in the family but was disgusted with her because she was born front the traitor Viscountess womb and wishes she had never been born and died with her.
Rosaria's family warmth was out of reach, and she was completely isolated; if she heard her family outside, she made sure to eat her meals in her room. Her Uncle and Aunt's neglect led to cold treatment from other family members; despite being the daughter of the late Marquees, she was treated like dust.
Everyone was hesitant to interact with Rosaria, and they were all thinking, 'Who knows when she'll die?' Rosaria agreed with those sentiments as well, because her illness and breakup with the Earl felt like death to her. But now, defying countless predictions of her premature death, she wished someone would marry her, whether it was a good or bad suitor.
Despite the fact that she was the daughter of an illustrious Mellakou family, no one had approached her after her annulment with Earl of North.
There was no need to speculate on the reason. Lord Aaron, enraged, summoned Rosaria to him.
"You worthless thing!" he yelled, echoing throughout the house.
A child who had been useless since her parents' deaths couldn't help him now. His first child, as well as his three other daughters, had successful marriages, but Rosaria had no chance.
"How could I have a niece like you!" exclaimed the Lord. Rosaria's unusually white face turned even whiter as his sharp gaze pierced her.
"Why should our family have to endure years of humiliation? Your Witch mother cursed you with bad luck, and my idiotic brother abandoned me because of you; how will I survive as the head of the Mellakou family?"
Rosaria's head sank even lower as a result of her uncle, 'the prestigious Lord Aaron Mellakou' - as the Count was known in social circles. He sought to strengthen his political position. Although his position remained precarious, there was a way to bridge the gap: a political marriage. A marriage bond between two families was like signing a contract; it allowed them to strengthen their relationship and expand their interests.
Rosaria's father's brother, Aaron Mellakou, had done the same. He had married his wife for the sake of his family. His wife's relationship was not neglected, but it was also a business relationship. Aaron's opinions were identical to those of his parents. Marriage, children, and marriage into excellent families A child was just an extension of the contract for the lord. He slammed his fist into the desk.
"What's wrong with my family? How could no one ask for your hand in marriage!, how can that prince just annul your marriage like that, you worthless child always bringing bad luck to the house of Mellakou. You should have died with your mother instead of my brother who could have married for the third time but spend his life caring you and died an unreasonable death."
Rosaria was upset as well, but she didn't even ask him not to marry her off. The new lord of Mellakou stared helplessly at his useless niece, a bloodless figure with thick lips. He didn't find her attractive. But he also felt pitied because he was her sole family member, and he was only angry because she was the cause of his brother's death. But deep down, he cared about the young lady.
"Sigh!...Now there's only one thing to do."
Rosaria lifted her head and was asked to sit with him at the study. The lord sat in the sofa opposite to her and pulled up a letter and handed to her
"I'm glad one proposal came," he said.
At the Lord's s words, Rosaria was shocked hearing this words. A proposal. She closed her eyes, thinking that it could be her only way out of this house.
"A letter has come from the Duke of the south proposing marriage," said the lord
"Who Is it Uncle "
"The Duke of Eklostead"
"The Duke of Eklostead. . ." murmured Rosaria.
The moment she heard the name, Rosaria's face fell. The light that she thought she'd found died out in a single moment. She looked at the count, shaking her head in denial.
"I must have heard it wrong – you don't mean the Duke of Eklostead, ...I reprase the tyrant Duke who feeds on blood, The Duke Serafeim of Eklostead house?" asked Rosaria tearing with fear. "You are giving my marriage to him"
"Yes, I do," said the lord with despair, it's was nothing left to do than giving the Pitiful child to the Duke who is called as a man-eater.
