Chapter 13 - 11

The door swung open and I'm standing face to face with Steven.

I get frustrated at the sight of him and before I can say anything, I hear Helang.

"Hi Jessie." She says awkwardly.

I look down from Steven's stupid face and see Helang in front of him with a wide eyed gaze...then I spot Steven's arm around her waist.

He looks too comfortable.

I take a deep breath and reign in my anger.

I can't risk scaring her again with my jealousy.

We all know what happened last time.

"I wanted to talk to you; if you're ok with that." I say quickly before I can talk myself out of it.

Helang looks at Steven and noticed he has a look of concern etched to his features but she quickly dismissed his worries.

He looks apprehensive but in the end he nods his head with a gentle smile and pats her head.

She snakes her way out of Steven's grasp and waves over her shoulder calling out to them that she'll be back.

She walks outside and I nod my head for her to follow me.

With a quick glance over my shoulder, Nadia stood next to Steven with the eyes of her shewolf glaring hostility to my soul.

*If you put one of your grubby little paws so much out of place with her, I'll track you down to the ends of the earth for your meaty fucking head and then I'll shred you to pieces. By some miracle; if you're still alive by the time I'm done with you, I'll shove what's left of you down your throat!* Nadia telepaths with a snarl and an upward tilt of her head.

With that lovely imagery painted into my brain, I gulp and nod my head not to subtly for them both to see.

We head through the village and go in the direction of the woods. Helang starts glancing around nervously. No doubt she's scouting for escape routes just in case.

I continue walking until we reach the woods.

Occasionally, I look over my shoulder to make sure she's still following me.

Finally she takes a deep breath in and speaks up.

"Jessie...please say something. You're making me nervous." Her voice rings out breaking the silence.

I keep walking deeper into the woods; I want to be far from prying ears. I want us to have as much privacy as possible.

I find the small river I was looking for and it still takes my breath away.

The small lake is made up of beautiful clear water that always stays cold.

There's a bunch of weeping willow trees that form a somewhat dome around it and the sun makes the water glisten like diamonds.

I quit walking and stand facing away from her; staring in awe at this hidden gemstone I found years ago.

I stand in silence trying to think of my next move and how I have to win her over.

I suppose an apology should be step one.

I think dryly.

Taking a deep inward breath I begin.

"I'm sorry." I say barely audible.

She takes in a quivering breath of air and holds it.

Good I have her attention; now I need to hold her in my hands and mold her to my will.

I turn around to face her and continue quietly yet calmly.

"I should've been more honest with you." I say in a genuine way.

She doesn't say anything, just looks at me with a weary expression in her hazel brown eyes.

"I just... i wanted to have you near me. I didn't know in me doing all of this, that it would cause you to suffer." I continue my speech acting pathetic.

"Please, give me another chance to make up for everything." I say looking down with a look of guilt.

She stays quiet and as much as I want to look at her I keep my head down and wait for her to talk.

"On one condition." She says with a sharp edge to her voice.

I look up and then everything goes black.

I blink my eyes open and realize I'm on the ground; Helang standing over me with a triumphant smirk.

"Now we can start over." She says chipper and matter of factly.

I screw my face up ready to yell, but as I sit up, pain radiates through my face.

I touch my nose and flinch a bit.

Damn.

She must've been practicing everyday for that powerful punch.

I really saw this going a different way in my head.

Holding onto my nose, I smile up at her; loving her even more.

"So, how's life been?" I say with nonchalance.

She lets out a small laugh and takes a picture of me holding my bloody nose, her chestnut brown hair slightly falling over her shoulder.

"All is well. Me and Steven started dating and Nadia has been teaching me a lot of combat and self defense." She beams with happiness.

It's like a bunch of plates just shattered breaking my illusion.

She keeps chattering but I don't hear anything else but what she said.

Her and Steven are dating.

With that thought, I'm pissed beyond reason.

I seeth in anger and I feel my wolf stir in frustration.

"Break up with him." I say with finality cutting off her story.

"What?" She questions me bewildered and then her features morph into anger.

"No! I love him and he treats me like a princess!" She defends straightening herself up in defiance.

"Is this why you brought me out here?! To get me to leave the one guy who actually treats me with respect and dignity? You're despicable!" She screams with a look of hostility in her beautiful eyes.

"I'll kill him if you don't!" I growl out seething with rage.

Her anger turns to sheer horror and she backs away.

Peering into her mind, I project images of me killing Steven in the most horrific ways.

She stands there with a silent startled look and I walk up to her knowing I've won.

"Leave him or he'll suffer that fate." I whisper into her ear.

"He doesn't really love you. He just wants you for your body. He's done it before and he'll do it again. Why do you think Nadia is the only one who will be around him. She has no idea what he's capable of."

I continue to say many things and I watch her confidence instantly crumble.

"Leave him and get with me. After all, I've done everything for you when you had no one." The final words in the coffin and she barely nods her head.

I tilt her head up and she has tears in her eyes.

"Are you going to leave him and get with me instead?" I ask with a dark undertone.

She begins to nod but I lift my brow up in question and she opens her mouth.

"Yes..." a sob cuts her off but it's enough for me.

I grab her face and I hold her tearful gaze.

"You won't speak a word about this to anyone. If questions arise, tell them it didn't work out. Understand?" I say with a threat to my words.

"Yes." She quivers out; tears pooling from her eyes freely now.

I don't like seeing her cry, but I know that I can take care of her so much better.

"Kiss me." I demand of her.

A look of horror crosses her eyes but she leans in and pecks my lips really quick.

Without warning, I grab her face back to mine and kiss her.

She tries to push me away startled but her hand pushing against my chest did little of her desires.

"If you keep struggling against me..." I warn.

She stills and then kisses me back with some reluctance.

I pull away once I'm satisfied.

"Better." I say moving her hair from her face.

She shivers and I smile.

She's mine.

"Say you belong to me." I demand of her.

I need to hear those words.

She sniffles and opens her mouth to speak, anger sparking in her eyes again.

"NO! I DO NOT BELONG TO YOU!" She yells in defiance her hazel brown eyes blazing with a renounced fury.

I reach back and I watch as she instinctively raises her arms to cover herself, then I remember Nadia's words.

I let out a low growl and smile.

"Suppose I also get rid of Nadia." I say cunningly.

She gasps and falls to her knees. She's shaking her head violently and her shoulder wreaking sobs become cries of utter despair.

"No, no, please, no. I..." she breaks off with another sob.

"I belong to you." She finishes miserably.

"Good." I say with that same edge to my voice then I switch up to a voice like honey.

"After two years, that sounds like the right answer. Now get up." I continue silkily.

When she continues to sob on the grass, I grab the back of her shirt and yank her up; startling another cry from her as I hold her against me.

"Kiss me again. And remember, your two friends lives depends on it. " I say more softly this time.

With no hesitation, she leans in and kisses me with all kinds of desperation.

I hold the back of her hair and push her against a tree causing a gasp to escape her lips. I don't let the opportunity pass and shove my tongue in her mouth.

I continue to kiss her as if she's the very breath I need to live; sometimes coming up for breath.

"You're mine now." I whisper into her ear.

She shivers and I lean back in to kiss her again. I bite her lip gently and she slightly parts her ravenous mouth.

.

.

.

I've only just started dating Steven.

I was enrolled into school but it remained in the village so I got to know a lot of the others here pretty quickly.

I was told that it was a group home for unwanted children and teens by Mr McCarter.

He said that it should be very safe to be at and all misunderstandings were resolved.

Jerry was initially upset with us but I did go out for a change of clothes and I also did some self defense within 15 minutes.

My work was sloppy. No doubt about it.

In the end, he was somewhat proud.

I was later told by Nadia and Steven however that this wasn't a group home but a whole village of families who are different. She looked like she would've said more but was instantly shushed.

I've also ran into the others who I originally saw when I first got here. At first, everything was awkward but then we were all cool with each other.

But I've been noticing they've all been avoiding certain topics or acting shady.

"Helang!" Jessie's voice tries to break into my own little world but I don't want to hear him.

He keeps calling my name.

Where was I?

Oh right!

Disassociation from this assault.

No, no. Nothing is happening to me.

I'm ok.

I felt a white hot piercing pain at the base of my neck and a shrill cry leaves my lips causing the world I created in my mind to disappear.

"I'll make her mine. She'll never belong to you!" I hear a snarl from Jessie.

I hear the scream continue but eventually my mouth was covered.

My eyes focus for a brief second and I see tufts of fur flying and blood.
