The night passed by quickly and the civilians were back to their everyday lives. People were buying, selling, and talking in the market. Trying to earn enough money to fill their bellies so that they won't starve and sleep with an empty stomach again.
It was no wonder that the village of BloodRoot was one of the poorest in the Kingdom of Flora. The economical crisis was due to an illegal group which has taken over this village.
Not surprisingly they were the reason why this village was ruined in the first place!
This village was my hometown. I was born here and just like the majority of the population I was a victim of malnutrition and poverty.
In the previous timeline, I was saved and lived a noble life but right now I can't risk the same thing happening again. Just thinking about those moments and memories I feel sick and disgusted! This time I definitely have to take another route. Something that does not include me getting saved by him.
Fortunately, I know just the right person.
After looking for hours and hours I found him in the middle of the market buying some apples. Trying to gain his attention I hid behind some boxes. Of course, he noticed me.
I smirked realizing my plan was working.
He ignored me and walked away just as I anticipated. I trailed behind him until we reached an empty valley. He stopped in his tracks and so did I.
He turned around giving me a good glance at his looks. Red hair covered his forehead, normal height, A scar on his right arm, and blue eyes that shine like diamonds looked at me gently. He looked like someone right out of a fairytale.
He was perfect to be a pawn in my game.
"What do you want kid?", He asked gently"I don't have any money over me right now"
"Hmm, are you sure?", I replied as I pointed towards a pouch that was hanging on his belt. I was wasting his time and that was exactly what I plan to do.
Already irritated by me he replied, "Fine, I'll give you a penny If you leave me alone, now that's a good deal, isn't it? "
Of course what else does a beggar want? But I was different...
"I don't want a penny", I bluntly stated. I wanted something more precious. Something only he can give me.
"Then a silver coin?"
"No"
"A gold coin? I can't give you more than that! Just leave me alone, this place is dangerous, kid!"
This proved he was persistent in making me leave and that I was wasting his time. Too easy to read and too easy to use
"I know", I replied while picking my ears "that is why I'm here"
"You want no money?"
"No"
"Then what do you want?"
I wanted to make my request right there and wanted to escape from this hell hole forever. I dig my nails in my palm realizing he will deny my request. The only way to make him agree was to play with him a bit. Only then I can escape before that person arrives.
"Alexander Amber, Second Commander of The Rose knights, Under the orders of Duke you are here as a spy, Am I right or am I right?" Cause I am never wrong.
Taken back by my words he looked at me in disbelief. He narrowed his eyebrows and smirked at me. Now that is interesting.
"Hmmm...Then I should kill you, Shouldn't I?"
In a swift motion, before I could comprehend what was happening, he drew his sword from the protection and aimed at my neck just stopping before slicing my neck and divorcing my head from my body.

I always make sure to note what my opponent possesses and my eyes naturally look around their bodies to find their weak point. Is it because coming back to the past costed my muscle memory?
"Tell me, who told you about this? Well, it doesn't matter, you will not be walking out alive from here anyways",
I was not even a single bit affected by his deadly words. I had it worse in the past. Especially when I lost my fingers one by one in his basement. Ahh... why did I think of that person again?!
"You won't", I stated confidently.
"I won't do what?", He questioned me.
"Kill me", I replied tilting my head and giving him puppy eyes in the process. Eat my cuteness mister!
But a kid who was thinner than paper and looked like she will die any second from hunger was definitely not looking cute. So he remained unaffected. Mission successfully failed!
"Why won't I?"
He was testing me.
"The duke does not allow harm against a civilian"
"The fact that you knew about this proved that you could be a spy just like me"
"Hmmm, but I'm still a kid. The Duke will never let this pass, He is very sensitive about kids, Isn't he?" Of course, he knew it better than anyone.
"Kid, you're testing the waters which should never be tested"
"I'm sorry mister but it's my habit"
"Hah! If you don't want money then what a beggar like you want?"

"Make me your disciple!"

At first, everything was silent. We maintained our eye contact not even daring to blink. The tension was intense. He observed me for while. Tilting his head he patted my hair. Narrowing his eyes he let out a small chuckle.
"Kid, Thank you so much for wasting my time"
I was expecting that.
"Mister! If you take me as your disciple I'll tell you about that!"
"About what?"
"The thing you are here for...only I knew where it is" Of course since I ate it in the last timeline, no one knows about it better than I.
"No thank you, I'll figure it out myself than teaming up with a kid who is a potential spy of the enemy"
"You'll regret it, mister"
"No, I won't", He confidently stated.
Oh yes, He did.
