Chapter 8 - 008. Chamber 'Aaqat

Jacob was stunned to hear Doctor Xana's very long explanation. A little guilty, for accidentally letting the girl walk after Jacob on the back of his horse.

She could have been following him for about two hours. Feeling stupid, because it was too late to realize the girl's existence.

Although, not entirely what happened to the girl was his fault. The girl herself followed him.

Hey! That strange girl, right, could have called him. Why didn't she do it?! Said a voice in his heart, trying to shake off the guilt.

"Is there no air conditioning in this house?" Doctor Xana's words brought back Jacob's focus, who had been wandering around.

"Yes, but not in this living room. Why?" answered Jacob.

Doctor Xana put down the pen she used to write the prescription and gave it to Jacob.

"First aid for hyperthermic patients is to rest by lying down in a cool, well-ventilated room."

"With a fan or air conditioner, it can speed up the temperature drop. This girl's temperature is almost past 42 degrees Celsius."

"Then loosen up any tight-fitting clothes, including socks and shoes. You can ask one of your maids to change this girl's clothes."

"Please ask your maid to compress the head, neck, face, using cold water."

"And this, is the recipe for making an electrolyte solution. Give it as soon as this girl wakes up." Doctor Xana ended her explanation and said goodbye.

Jacob ordered his four maids to move the girl to her own room. Changed her clothes, put a cold compress on her, and made her an electrolyte drink, as directed by Doctor Xana's.

In this house, there are five rooms that can be used, but only two rooms are equipped with air conditioning.

Jen's room and Jacob's room. Meanwhile, Javier's room was left alone, without air conditioning or a fan, even though it was cleaned every day.

Jacob escorted Doctor Xana's to the front door while consulting what he should do after the girl woke up.

"My advice, go see your mother, tell her there's a girl you brought back to this house." Jacob was stunned by Doctor Xana's words. What advice is that?

Knowing what was on Jacob's mind, Doctor Xana's continued, "Because you have to take care of the girl, at least until tomorrow. Unless, you know where the girl's house lives."

"We both know, Karaskas is a small village, almost all of its inhabitants know each other. And that girl ...." Doctor Xana deliberately hung her words.

Jacob nodded, understood, without the middle-aged woman continuing her words.

He went back into the house, to make sure the girl's condition.

Snow Land, some time before King Luo's youngest daughter's birthday celebration. Annethaxia Luo.

Twenty-three women were seen walking hurriedly in their royal clothes. A long dress made of velvet, silvery white with gemstone decoration on the top.

They walked in the same direction. Guided by a trusted bodyguard of the King. Avoid the chaos that is outside the palace.

There are only three days left of King Luo's youngest daughter's birthday, as well as the announcement of their youngest daughter's marriage to her future partner, which will be officiated on the same day.

The King and Queen have agreed on a candidate to be paired with their daughter. A noble with cultivation already reached level 6.

The chaos could no longer be contained, the defectors succeeded in inciting the people to revolt and demand justice.

They demanded that the King and Queen, who had no sons, step down from their thrones. And handed over the kingdom to another successor, who had male descendants.

They were instigated not to accept that their kingdom was ruled by a Queen in the future, if King Luo XXV abdicated.

Roweena Luo, the eldest sister stopped in her tracks, when she realized that Annethaxia Luo was not with them.

"Where's Annethaxia?!" Her loud voice suddenly stopped the steps of his sisters and their guards.

"I'll be back, and look for my sister." Roweena turned around, but was stopped by her guards.

"Princess had better walk straight to a safe place. Let the section look for the Princess's sister, servant to do the work." The guard spoke while lowering his gaze.

It was forbidden, for the castes under the royal family and nobles to see the faces of the castes above them.

Roweena nodded in agreement. They separated. Roweena and her twenty-two sisters continued on their way to safety.

A place deliberately built with a high level of power, that only the royal family and their descendants could find and enter.

Meanwhile the King's trusted bodyguard turned around to look for the King's youngest daughter.

The bodyguard named Salman found the King's youngest daughter on the edge of the lake.

Standing with a woman, who Salman did not recognize, because she had her back to him.

Salman saw the princess conversing with the foreign woman. Looks nod. As Salman was getting close to where they were, something Salman didn't expect happened to his princess.

The princess was pushed by the foreign woman into the lake!

Salman immediately ran to help the princess. However, when he arrived at the shore of the lake, and saw who the woman was pushing the princess, Salman was silent for a split second, then lowered his gaze.

That woman was Annethaxia Luo, the youngest daughter of the King. Salman still lowered his gaze, glancing at the lake.

No water ripples there.

Salman then thought, his eyes were deceiving him.

Could it be that what he saw earlier—the King's youngest daughter being pushed into the lake—was just an illusion?

If it's real, then why is the princess by the lake?

"You looking for me, Salman?" The voice of the princess, Annethaxia, broke his thoughts. Salman still lowered his gaze, then bowed.

"Yes, Princess. Please, Princess, walk in front of me." Salman gestured for Annethaxia to walk in front of him. The princess followed.

On the third step, Annethaxia stopped suddenly, and turned her body, until she was face to face with Salman. Salman, who was surprised, stopped his steps and quickly lowered his gaze.

"Salman,"

"Yes, Princess."

"What did you see by the lake earlier?" Salman was silent for a while, hesitating to answer the princess's question.

"I'm sorry, Princess. I'm not sure." Hearing Salman's answer, his father's trusted bodyguard, Annethaxia smiled.

"If anyone asks you what you saw by the lake tonight."

"Say, you saw me by the lake waiting for you to pick me up. Because I was confused looking for my other sisters." The words of the youngest daughter are the same as the words of the King. Salman also obeyed.

"Forget everything else, that happened by the lake." Salman gasped, his eyesight was not wrong!

If princess Annethaxia's was really pushed into the lake, by this woman before her.

Then, who exactly was the woman who looked so much like the youngest daughter of the Luo King?

"Do you understand what I'm saying?" asked Annethaxia, because Salman was silent.

"Se-servant, understand what you are saying, Princess." Salman answered stuttering.

"Who am I?" the woman confirmed.

"Princess Annethaxia Luo, youngest daughter of King Dimitrix Luo, King Luo XXV, and Queen Zaffira."

"Good. We continue our journey towards the Chamber of 'Aaqat–the hidden room."
