Chapter 38 - Chapter Thirty-Seven – Undead Attack

Damon and Lorax popped out from beside a building, they were being careful not to be noticed by other people. But the creature didn't seem to have that sentiment, it was harassing everything in sight, screams and yells would periodically sound, and people were running about, it was total chaos.

Damon grunted before descending them into the Shadow Realm again, getting to the source of the problem was much faster in there. The bypassed the frightening people and popped out every now and then to assess the situation.

''Why don't we just stay in the Shadow Realm until we find the creature?'' Lorax asked.

''No,'' Damon shook his head, ''after knowing that monsters live there, I don't want to spend too much time in there unless I have to.''

''Hmm, it seems the place that brought you a sense of solace now brings you distress.'' Lorax mused.

''Meh, it was more of useful tool.''

They traced the creature's path of destruction to an open area; it was being surrounded by brave men and women equipped with sticks and stones. Although the creature was rabid it didn't seem to be intelligent nor was it an indiscriminate killer, most of the people it attacked came out with mild injuries. It was like a dog, and everything was a chew toy in its eyes.

''Aright, enough hiding, hopefully the people will blame this on the sorcerers.'' Damon brought both of them out of the Shadow Realm.

The creature lunged at someone but was stopped by Lorax's shield, the people around gasped and retreated rapidly when the saw him, it was common knowledge to not get in the way of a sorcerer who was wielding magic. Lorax used the shield to toss the creature towards Damon, who spread his shadow like a pool to swallow the creature. He was about to send it back to the Shadow Realm when he received a notification.

[Shadow Fiend detected. Would you like to absorb into shadow?]

Damon stood stunned for a bit, it wasn't after Lorax nudged him before he remembered where he was. He hastily agreed to the notification before jumping into the Shadow Realm.

''What happened back there? You spaced out.'' Lorax asked as soon as they entered the Shadow Realm.

''It's nothing.''

''Of course, that's you're answer.''

Damon stopped and looked back at Lorax, ''Is something the matter?''

''Look, I've been thinking about this matter for a while now, and I'm not one to keep stuff in so I'm just going to say it, I understand that you and Jasmine have been with each other for a very long time and that you guys are basically family, but I really don't appreciate the constant secrecy and tests you give me.''

Damon looked at him without saying anything, he seemed to understand that Lorax still had more to say.

''Like today,'' Lorax continued, ''I know you were testing to see if I'd really torture the lady, and you dragged me with you when going after the creature because you didn't trust me not to free her. And that's fine, I'm not asking you to be close friends with me, but don't treat me like an idiot.''

''Now, take me out of here. I would like to walk the rest of the distance by myself, if that's alright with you. And if you don't trust me, you can follow me secretly like before.'' Lorax said.

Damon was tactful enough not to say anything, he nodded and opened a gateway to the normal realm. Lorax gave him a curt nod before walking through it.

A soft breeze woke Azealia up, her sweaty skin felt cold under the constant wind. A second later, she remembered where she was and bolted to her feet. She saw a girl – Jasmine was her name – standing beside a broken window, staring at her with a nonchalant gaze.

''Oh, goody, you've woken up, and here I was hoping you would stay unconscious for a few hours.'' Jasmine said.

Azealia glance around the small room and noticed that they were the only ones there, she slowly glared at Jasmine and walked towards her. She'd first cripple her before leaving, to bad she wouldn't be able to see the faces of her companions when they find her with mangled limbs.

''I'd stay still if I were you, unless you'd like to go back to sleep.'' Jasmine said in the same tone as before, it was clear that she didn't see Azealia as a threat.

Azealia sneered at the blatant disregard of her, ''I don't know if it's ignorance or arrogance that allows you to stay so calm in front of me.''

''Neither,'' Jasmine said, ''its confidence.''

Azealia snorted and whipped out a dagger from her boot, she lunged at Jasmine in a way that made it possible for her to retreat if necessary. She stabbed at Jasmine with great speed but hit only air. Jasmine had dodged to her side so fast she could barely see her, before she could do anything she felt a hard blow hit her face, she flew backwards and hit her back on the wooden wall, cracking it.

Azealia gasped in pain when she hit the ground, involuntary tears fell from her eyes, her cheek was slowly swelling up and she was pretty sure her jaw had cracked.

The door to the room burst open and Damon rushed in, he glanced at Azealia and blinked rapidly.

''What happened?!''

''She attacked me.'' Jasmine shrugged.

''Okay, but,'' Damon looked at Azealia who was writhing on the ground, ''isn't that a bit too much?''

''Too much?'' Jasmine scoffed, ''I went easy on her, that was just a casual hit. I'm a level 18 Warrior y'know, I could have killed her with that punch if I wanted too.'' She glanced behind him, ''Where's Lorax?''

''He's… downstairs,'' Damon had to drag his eyes away from Azealia's swollen face, ''he'll soon be here.''

''Stop looking her and send her back to the Shadow Realm, its not right to have pity on the sorcerers accomplices,'' Jasmine glared down at Azealia, ''raising the dead and using them to kill people, they don't deserve sympathy.''

Damon wanted to say something but sighed instead, he gathered the shadows to keep Azaelia back in the Shadow Realm. When Azealia saw that he was about to trap her back in colorless place she quickly screamed, ''I'm not with any sorcerer, I've never even met one! I don't raise the dead! I don't know anyone who does that!''

''What?!'' Both Jasmine and Damon said.

Lorax entered just then, his eyes widened when he saw Azealia on the ground, but he didn't say anything, then he saw Damon's and Jasmine's shocked faces.

''What happened?!'' He walked up to them.

''She spoke,'' Damon said, ''Umm, she said she didn't know any sorcerer.''

''What?!''

Jasmine chuckled, ''That's what we said.''

''Okay, okay, this is enough. Truth be told, I was a bit skeptical when we pinned that accusation on her, but her silence didn't help things. It seems like she's ready to talk now, let me heal her first.'' He walked towards Azealia with his hands raised.

When Azealia saw his hand she tried to scramble backwards and got a sharp pain in her back, but she ignored it, she still remembered the pain she received from that hand. But the pain she was expecting didn't come, instead a warm feeling entered her entire body, she could feel her injuries healing at a fast rate. She kept her palm on her face and felt it the swell go down.

''Alright, there you go.'' Lorax smiled at her, ''Now, we're all still very suspicious of you since you did break into our room, why don't you start by telling us why you did that.''

Azealia swallowed her spit and mulled over what he said, she took a glance at everyone in the room and remembered that she couldn't beat anyone of them. She sighed and spoke, ''I had once saw you spreading a rumor in a tavern, at first, I didn't take what you said to heart but then I saw you doing the same thing in another tavern, so I followed you.''

She cleared her throat abashedly when she saw them giving her weird looks, ''I was wondering why you were spreading such rumors and deliberately sowing fear in the hearts of the people, so I broke into your room to… threaten you.''

Lorax, Jasmine and Damon all hissed and looked at each other, they all collectively understood that they had made a mistake.

''I am so sorry,'' Damon chuckled sheepishly while Jasmine tried to hide herself behind him, ''this is all just a misunderstanding. We thought…. It doesn't matter what we thought, you're free to go.'' He gestured towards the door.

Azealia looked at them incredulously, although she had been trained to read expressions and could tell they were genuinely embarrassed, she still felt they could be tricking her. But after asking her to leave they gathered together and began talking, they had already stopped paying attention to her!

''So, what now?'' Lorax asked.

Jasmine shrugged ''We just go back to our lives, sure this week was interesting, but we've seen better.''

''Yeah, we should probably leave this country soon, who knows how many people are watching us.'' Damon said.

Azealia listened to their conversation as she walked towards the door, and for some reason she had an impulse to ask them something, ''Um, are there really sorcerers raising the dead?''

They all turned around and looked at her, Lorax stepped forward and answered her, ''Yes, there are. They are gathering the dead for an attack on the kingdom.''

''When are they going to attack?''

''That we don't know.''

''Then how are you so sure that there would even be an attack?''

''We got the information from a very reliable sources,'' Lorax said, ''we don't know when or where they will attack, but we know that it is coming soon.''

''So be prepared,'' Damon spoke ominously, ''for danger is lurking, looking for an opportunity to strike.''

Antonia balanced three plates of food on her arms as she walked to the living room, her house wasn't big enough to have a dining area so that was where she ate. She used her feet to kick open the kitchen door and carefully walked towards her guests. Before she reached them, they had already gotten up to help her.

''Why do you insist on carrying everything by yourself?'' Duma said.

''Yeah, you even wanted carried the groceries all the way from the market,'' Ronan said, ''we had to wrestle it from your hands.''

''Let us help you more, we are friends aren't we?'' Conrad asked.

''We are,'' Antonia smiled, ''but today you are guests, and I should display proper etiquette as the host.''

''Cooking for us is already enough.'' Duma said.

Antonia chuckled, ''Enjoy the food.''

''Thanks, we will!'' They all began eating.

After a few visits Antonia and the rest had become quite close, and although she had invited them to her house before, this was the first time they were sleeping in, and it was mostly because Antonia closed her stall late. After dinner they all sat around the living to talk, Duma was the loudest, Conrad didn't speak much but would occasionally disagree with Duma to annoy her while Antonia and Ronan laughed.

Antonia had asked them what they were doing in the Green Turtle Duchy, they told her they were just travelling for fun.

''Wow, I'm jealous. I wish I could travel around our kingdom too.'' Antonia said wistfully.

''Why don't you?'' Duma asked.

''Um, I'm poor.''

''Oh.''

''Insensitive brat…'' Conrad murmured.

Ronan chuckled awkwardly and tried to change the topic, ''Hey, I forgot to ask, what type of skills do you have? We've never seen a Dream Mage before so I'm very curious.''

''Yeah, yeah. What can you do?'' Duma bounced excitedly.

''Well, I'm still in level one – I actually leveled up by killing fishes – so I don't have that much skills. When I was blessed by the God of Origins and was made a Dream mage, I was given a permanent, one-time use skill called [Figmental Friend], and after leveling up I unlocked the [Slumber] spell.''

Seeing Duma's expectant expression, she continued '' The [Figmental Friend] was able to draw a character from my dreams – and not just any character, my most frequent and favorite one – and pull it into reality.'' As she finished speaking, a large, grey, suit of armor appeared behind her.

''Whoa!'' The others stood up hastily at the sudden appearance, Antonia waved her hands calm them down, ''Don't worry, it won't attack unless I say so.''

''Well, we know that,'' Ronan said after calming down, ''but its sudden appearance was still shocking.''

Duma walked up to it and flicked it, there was a soft sound of nail hitting metal, ''Its real.'' She breathed incredulously. She peered into the holes of the helmet, but only saw darkness, ''Is there someone in it?'' She asked.

''No, when I dreamt of it I didn't have anyone in mind.''

Duma nodded, then she looked at Antonia with a teasing expression, ''Why was a suit of armor in your dreams? Were you dreaming that you were a trapped princess or something?''

''Of course, not!'' Antonia blushed mildly; she didn't admit that Duma was right.

"What about the second skill?'' Conrad brought up their previous conversation.

Antonia was grateful for the question ''The [Slumber] skill is self-explanatory, it sends its target to a dormant state.''

''Wow, Dream Mage indeed.'' Duma nodded.

''That skill reminds me of the Sleep Spell sorcerers use.'' Ronan said.

''Well, I don't know much about that…'' Antonia shrugged.

They talked for a long while, it wasn't until Duma yawned that they realized how late it was, the moon had already appeared in the sky. They decided to go to sleep, mostly for Antonia's benefit since she would have to go to work the next day. Duma slept with Antonia while the boys slept in the living room.

They were ready for a good night's rest, but trouble came knocking.

At midnight, Antonia was having a dreamless sleep when she felt a disturbance even in her unconscious state. She who was already sleeping felt a haze pressing down on her, she unconsciously resisted it. The haze wasn't an attack, it was more of a coercion, even then it took a while for her to dispel it.

After the haze disappeared, Antonia's eyes fluttered open and she uncomfortably sat up. She thought she was just experiencing insomnia, so she got of the bed – careful not to wake Duma – and walked to the kitchen to get some water. When she opened the kitchen door, she noticed moonlight spilling from the open window.

''Hmm, I guess I forgot to close that.'' She muttered. She grabbed a cup and poured water from the kettle into it and drank it in one gulp, after putting them back in their place she was about to close the window when a green glint flashed in her vision. She squinted her eyes and tried to focus on the green light, the light flashed brightly periodically and whenever it flashed Antonia some figures stumbling about.

Antonia leaned forward, her eyes had begun to adapt to the low light. The light flashed once more and illuminated a dense number of skeletons moving forward.

Antonia gasped and stumbled backwards, she tripped on her feet and landed heavily on the ground. Even then she still moved, she crawled out of the kitchen door before running into the room.

''Duma!'' She whispered loudly, ''Duma wake up!'' When she didn't react she grabbed her shoulders and shook her harshly, but Duma didn't wake up. Antonia began panicking, she was no genius, but she could still tell that something was wrong. As she shook Duma frantically, she channeled her magic and used [Sense], she didn't know what to do so she just used what she had.

Fortunately, her efforts brought forth results. She saw a green haze twinkling around Duma's eyes, she instinctively wiped at it, and it actually disappeared. After it was gone, Duma began to wake up slowly. But Antonia didn't have time to waste, she shook her out of her groggy state.

''W-what… What are you doing?''

''Duma, there are skeletons, skeletons and dead people are coming this way!''

''What?!''

Duma's grogginess vanished immediately, she jumped off the bed instantly and ran to the living room with Antonia.

''Ronan! Conrad!'' She kicked them to quicky snap them out of their sleep, but they didn't respond, ''Wake up!''

Antonia stopped her before she electrocuted them, ''Wait, the same thing happened when I tried to wake you up. Something is making them stay asleep!''

''Then, that means… Can you wake them up?''

''I'll try.''

Antonia knelt beside them, activated [Sense] while channeling her magic and waited for the green haze to appear, then she wiped it off. After it disappeared, she grabbed their collars and shook them harshly, ''Wake up, wake up!''

Ronan gasped awake while Conrad blinked rapidly. Ronan frowned at the way he was woken up, ''Why?'' He whined.

''Ronan, the dead, their here.'' Duma said.

''What?!'' Both Conrad and Ronan jumped to their feet. For a second they were a bit hesitant, although they had heard about the undead and they were even on a mission to spread news about them, they had never actually seen them. Not to mention that their appearance meant that the prophecy was coming soon.

''Okay, okay okay okay,'' Ronan shook his head, ''Conrad and I would go out to stall them, while you two go and warn the people.''

''They may all be under a spell,'' Duma said, ''if it wasn't for Antonia none of us would have woken up.''

''A Sleep Spell?'' Ronan gasped, ''Then this is troublesome.'' He quickly assessed the situation, although he still hadn't checked the amount of the undead, he didn't want to take the chance of them killing people. Not just because he didn't want them to die, but there was also the fact that they could be resurrected and used in the undead army, piling up the pressure on him and his team.

''Shit, okay, Antonia, I need you to move as fast as you can and wake up as many people as you can. And listen to me; Don't try to save everyone, just grab the ones in this area and run.''

''What? No! – ''

''Yes, Antonia!'' Ronan grabbed her shoulders, ''It is impossible for us to save everyone, so just save the ones you can.'' He faced Conrad and Duma, ''Let's go, we've wasted too much time talking already.''

Antonia watched them walk out with wide eyes, she hesitated a little before walking out after them. Ronan was right, they had wasted time talking and if she wanted to save a lot of people it would be best if she started immediately. She glanced at Duma and the rest running towards the glowing green light, but she didn't stop moving. They all had their parts to play, she needed to quickly wake the sleeping people up so they wouldn't be hindrances.

She ran to the house bedside hers and pulled the handle of the door, it was locked. She didn't even bother to knock loudly since she knew they wouldn't hear her, she directly summoned her knight and asked it to cut open the door. The [Figmental Friend] raised it grey sword and cleaved the door apart, Antonia walked in resolutely, she was going her play her part.

Duma whistled as she, Ronan and Conrad ran towards the fluctuating green light, from this distance they could clearly see the undead shuffling forward, ''That's a lot of them.'' she said.

''Nothing we can't handle,'' Ronan said, he had merged with Mamba and brought out his weapon, ''Watch them closely, we have to make sure they don't have a chance to kill anyone, at least not yet.''

''Why?'' Duma asked, ''It's not that I don't want to save more people but there are hundreds of undead here, it's basically impossible for us to fight them and protect everyone at the same time.''

''I know, but we still have to limit the amount of people they kill.'' Ronan said, ''The sorcerer doing this can raise and control the dead, which means the more people they kill…''

''…The more the army grows.'' Conrad eyes widened, ''Shit, wouldn't that mean they would be unstoppable when fighting against an army?''

''I don't think so,'' Ronan shook his head, ''how strong can dead, rotten bodies be[] Their only advantage is their numbers.''

''This would have been much easier if it happened in the main city, the security there is tighter and formidable.'' Duma frowned.

''True, with the Patrol Knights, the militia stations, the Mercenary Groups, and the churches, this amount of undead would not be able to topple the main city of the Green Turtle Duchy, Ronan said ''But let's not dwell on that and instead focus on the enemy in front of us.''

''Duma, you have crowd control, since your magic as a wider range than our attacks. Conrad, try not to get in Duma's way. I will go after that light, I'm sure that is where the sorcerer is. If I can attack them, they wouldn't be able to maintain the Sleep Spell.'' Ronan quickly distributed them.

''Alright, let's move!''

Duma attacked first, she threw two bolts of lightning as big as a human's head at the skeletons in the front. The explosion it caused directly erased a group of them, lightning still cracked in the air after the explosion ended.

Ronan wasn't at all surprised by the attack, Lightning Mages had the most destructive attacks in all the classes.

The other undead suddenly went from shuffling to running, they quickly surrounded the group.

''It seems the sorcerer has noticed us.'' Ronan chuckled, ''I'm going towards them, try not to die okay?'' Ronan bent his leg and jumped over the undead, sailing ten meters ahead. His land crushed the undead under him, he used [Slithering Strike] as he moved forward, cutting them down as he ran.

Duma was spamming [Chain Lighning], creating a field of an inescapable lightning net around her. Conrad swept his spear around him, creating a sharp airflow that knocked the undead backwards. There were numerous undead around his feet, but they were headless and weren't moving.

He used the skill [Torrential Rain], his spear moved so fast it created numerous afterimages which landed in the undead in an instant, shattering their bodies. Conrad backed away quickly after using the skill, although the skill didn't take a lot of mp it was still stressful on his muscles. The undead chased after him maniacally, climbing over themselves an creating a wall with their bodies.

''[Flowing Stream]!'' Conrad had the habit of shouting out his skill, he felt it was more impactful. The head of his spear moved upwards like a raging stream, tearing apart the wall of undead.

Ronan soon reached the green light – which was actually a flame – , although the sorcerer tried to block him with undead he was too quick for them. The landed heavily in front of the sorcerer, the dark robe they wore made him unable to discern their gender, and they were holding a torch which glowed an eerie, green flame.

'Their using the torch as a conduit' With [Sense] he could see a haze pouring out from the flame and permeating the air, he quickly rushed forward. The sorcerer reacted fairly quickly and shot three green rays at Ronan while rapidly backing away, the rays were fast but Ronan was faster. He dodged the rays and they hit the ground instead, the spot they hit was instantly corroded.

A few skeletons fell at the feet of the sorcerer and they began chanting a spell, Ronan could hear the deep voice of a man coming from under the robe. Ronan rushed to intercept the spell, but the sorcerer had already finished chanting. The bones of the skeletons elongated into sharp spears that hit Ronan, he was pushed backwards but the spears couldn't penetrate the scales on his body.

He felt vibrations coming from under his feet and quickly jumped backwards, the elongated bones burst out of the ground and missed him by a hair's breadth. His sword whizzed as he cut down the bones in front of him, then he leaped forward and smashed the pile of skeletons into pieces. The sorcerer retreated once more, but Ronan was ready for him. He feinted a strike, causing the sorcerer to protect himself with a bunch of skeletons, then he twisted around and struck the torch, destroying it.

After that, Ronan rapidly moved backwards to dodge the sharp bones that were about to hit him. As he fought he fought, he felt a bit confused. Although the town they were in wasn't that big compared to large towns, it wasn't exactly little either, so it was impossible for one sorcerer to engulf the entire town with a Sleep Spell unless they were very strong.

But sorcerers that strong would have defeated him already, a bad feeling welled up in his heart.

Antonia had woken up as much people as she could, and together they ran the opposite way of the fight. She had kept her knight so as to not frighten the already scared people, they were all running as fast as they could, pumping their legs under the weight if their luggage. Antonia was still going door to door to wake people up, breaking open their windows and forcing them out of their deep sleep, but then she noticed people running out of their houses on their own.

'They did it!' She thought happily.

Even though she was the only one who really understood the situation she didn't appoint herself the leader, no one did. Everyone was just running as fast as they could from the explosions behind them.

When they reached another part of the town, the people pouring out of their houses stopped. Apart from the pattering of feet, everything there was quiet.

A scream rang out in the front, followed by another, and another. Antonia noticed that the people in front of her were running back, and it didn't take long for her to see what they were running from. Countless skeletons were chasing after them, the people that were devoured by the horde were clobbered to death by their hard bones.

''Run!'' Antonia yelled. She turned around and ran, the faster people passed her by, while the slower people were killed. The ones that fell were stomped to death by the stampede of the undead.

Suddenly, many undead poured out from another direction and rushed towards them. The people beside them were frozen in fright, that gave the skeletons the opportunity to swiftly kill them.

People began fighting back, some used stones, some used their fists, some were even using their kitchen tools they took with them during their escape. But it was no use, and they were soon swallowed by the undead horde.

Antonia had brought out her knight as she ran, because it was essentially a skill it wasn't bound to the ground. It floated around her and cut down the undead that got too close. Some people noticed this and began moving closer to her, hoping to get her protection. But the undead were densely packed, and those who didn't focus on where they were going found themselves surrounded.

Antonia wished she could protect them, but she could barely protect herself. She saw a flash of lightning in front of her and ran towards it, the bright flashes gave her a purpose to continue moving.

Ronan felt frustrated while battling the sorcerer, although he was physically stronger the sorcerer had an abundance of ammunition. Sometimes he didn't even use spells, he just bombarded Ronan with undead encirclements.

'How much Mana Pool does this guy have?!' Ronan screamed internally, 'shouldn't controlling this amount of undead be energy consuming?'

He lunged forward again, but this time when he got close he released Mamba and asked it to use [Poison Mist] on the sorcerer. Mamba opened its mouth and a purple mist shot out of its mouth and surrounded the sorcerer. When the mist disappeared Ronan saw that the sorcerer was still standing.

'Poison immunity?!' Ronan eyes widened incredulously.

''No.'' He shook his head while watching the sorcerer, he was trembling a bit and finding it hard to move. He didn't have poison immunity, he was just strongly resistant. Ronan chose that moment to strike, he told Mamba to attack but a skeleton suddenly jumped in front of it. Ronan didn't care about it since Mamba could easily rip the skeleton apart, but the skeleton didn't attack, instead it exploded.

Green flames burst out of its body and landed on Mamba, Mamba hissed and curled backwards. After that more undead began exploding around them, Ronan called Mamba back, he jumped on its head and asked it to retreat, some undead tried to block them but they were cleared by Mamba.

Antonia was gasping for air by the time she reached Duma's side, bolts of lightning hung around the air, ready to fry the undead that got to close. Antonia didn't stop moving, she slowly waded through the electric currents, and although she was very careful they still singed her skin.

''Duma!'' Her voice sounded warbled in the lightning field, but was thankfully not hindered.

''Antonia?!'' Duma's voice sounded, and the lightning field abruptly disappeared. She could see Duma running towards her, shooting lightning at the undead even while she ran, ''What are you doing here?!''

Antonia resummoned her knight, it cut down undead as she spoke, ''The skeletons are everywhere,'' she screamed almost hysterically, ''they're everywhere Duma!''

''Calm down, Antonia.'' Duma created two lightning spheres, they rotated above them, raining down lightning at the undead. ''I can see that, but just calm down.'' Duma stared warily at the undead that surrounded them, although they weren't strong they were to many. She saw Antonia's panic-stricken face, and the fact that she was alone gave her an idea of what happened.

The space she had created with her lightning was getting smaller and smaller, and her mp was running dangerously low. In fact, Antonia's knight had disappeared because she couldn't maintain it, she had to pick up the fallen limb of a skeleton to fight. Duma looked around almost frantically, the undead were too densely packed, she couldn't see either Conrad or Ronan and she was very worried.

Suddenly, a huge black snake burst out from her side, the undead were clinging to its scales but they obviously couldn't injure it. Ronan was standing on its head while Conrad was fighting beside it.

''Ahhhhh!'' Antonia screamed at the sudden appearance of the giant snake, Duma had to calm her down before she fainted.

''Duma, you and Antonia get on. Conrad, sorry you have to run beside us.'' Ronan said hastily, ''Come on, let's go!''

''No wait'' Antonia brought out her knight – she had leveled up during the fight – and climbed up its back, ''I'll use this instead.'' She wasn't getting anywhere near a giant snake if she could help it.

''Alright,'' Ronan said then looked at Duma who was already beside him, ''Duma, clear our way.''

Duma nodded and began gathering energy for a highly volatile lightning bolt, she poured every ounce of her remaining mp into the lightning, ''Close your eyes everyone!'' She said, then with a grunt she pushed her arms forward and a lightning bolt even wider than Mamba shot forward. The lightning bolt instantly fried the undead in front of them, creating a path more than wide enough for Mamba to go through.

Duma collapsed after the attack, Ronan hastily grabbed her and held her close, ''Alright let's go, let's go!''

Mamba shot forward with incredible speed, so did Conrad. Antonia's knight was much slower than them but it was faster than the chasing undead. Antonia couldn't help but look back, although some undead were chasing them, most of them were tearing apart the houses and bringing out the dead bodies of their ransacked homes.

The scene was too much for someone like Antonia, the only dead bodies she had seen were fish's, she never imagined there would be a day where she would be running from dead people. She turned her head away and focused on the way and focused on surviving.
