Synopsis
“Let me go back" “It was you who made me like this, how can I let you go, baby girl?” He tightened his grip on her nape pulling her closer to his face. “Soon you will be begging me not to let you go.” His smirk and deep voice were deliberately becoming dangerous weaknesses for Serah. Shivers run down her spine every time he does that, every time he brings up the bad boy inside him. “Because you love me,” he whispered moving his head into the crook of her neck for a kiss, sending more goosebumps to Serah. --- Apart from the human world, many other worlds exist and sometimes a few of us are fated to see them. Serah is a 22-year-old novelist who started her writing journey four years ago. She has always wished for her love story to be as romantic and true as the novels she writes. Unknowingly, her dream came true but it wasn't the way she wanted. Where Serah was losing her trust in love, it also affected the romantic novel she was writing. One night, Serah's laptop shuts down due to some technical glitches and ends up with all the data loss of her recent novel. This was going to put a pause on her continuing the novel writing for a few days. But the very next morning, she finds herself in her novel world.

Chapter 1 - Dear Diary

31st Dec 2021

"Dear diary, why is it always that people betray me? Why do they keep using me for their benefits and keep me on a fake hope? Why do people lie to me and then I end up being broken? I'm sick of my life but I can not just end it this way. Anyway, I'm planning on writing a new book. I didn't plan what the storyline would be, I just want to continue writing over the ideas I will have in my mind at the end of the day. Wish me the best of luck and a happy new year."

Serah updated about her day in her diary and kept it aside placing her laptop over the pillow on her lap. Fixing her glasses, she opened the site where she has to create a new book.

"What should be the name of the book?" she mumbled quizzically to herself.

Serah has no idea what she wants to write and what will it end up like. But she wants it to relieve her stress when she comes back home from the tiring day.

"Romantic novels are on-trend these days. So let's make it a romantic one," biting over her lower lips and rubbing her palms excitedly together, Serah began with her typing skills over the keyboard.

Click! Clack! Click-click!

The sound of the keyboard echoed in her small room. She was deeply intrigued and excited about starting up with a new work that she didn't realise how close she has leaned to her laptop screen.

A smirk curled up on her lips while scrolling down the pictures over the Internet, pictures of a romantic couple where the male lead is hot and arrogant with just his appearance in the picture.

Unfortunately, even after one hour of scrolling, Serah couldn't find a perfect picture for the cover of her novel that could fit her imagination.

"What's wrong with the men? Why are they not my type?" she scoffed.

Realising how closer she was leaning to the screen, Serah quickly leaned back straightening her back. Leaning closer to the screen has already given her good quality of big specs, now she doesn't want her back to bend too early before she gets old.

"Gosh! What to do of my habits!" She rolled up her eyes and continued to scroll more by trying some different search titles.

"OH MY GOD! There it goes!" Serah screamed out loud in excitement. "I finally found it!"

"What goes? What happened?" Cora ran into Serah's room quickly when she listened to Serah's screaming. "Are you okay Serah? I said you we shall go out tonight and celebrate the new year" she quickly walked towards the bed where Serah was sitting.

"How long are you planning on making yourself suffer? Move on girl! He doesn't deserve you! Don't ruin your mental health-" Cora stopped in her tracks when she noticed the sharp glares Serah was sending towards her.

Serah and Cora are cousins who moved into the city about three years ago. Serah is a 22-year-old novelist and a part-time worker at restaurants while Cora is a 24-year-old well known Interior decorator in the city.

After one year of living in the city, one evening, Serah went out with Cora to the party where many rich people of the town came together to celebrate.

Where Cora was busy with meeting the guests that her boss wants her to meet with, Serah got alone until Jeremy approached her.

A complete playboy who acted like a good boy before her. Never ever before had any boy followed Serah the way Jeremy did. He tried hard for about two months even though when Serah ignored him.

Where Jeremy's ego was being hurt for getting ignored by a girl who came from the countryside, Serah assumed if Jeremy's feelings for her were true.

Even Cora got trapped into Jeremy's sweet talks and she asked Serah to tell yes to Jeremy. And on Jeremy's birthday, Serah finally accepted his proposal and they both began dating.

Jeremy assumed that their relationship won't last for even a week, but just because of Serah's kindness, honesty and loyalty, it lasted for two years. And it would have lasted for a lifetime if Jeremy didn't do that.

Jeremy started up loving Serah back until one day when his friends were bored to see their best friend ignoring them for a girl. Jealousy flickered every time in their heart when Jeremy cancelled their plans only to meet with Serah.

They wanted to date Serah too, but Jeremy was not ready to break up with her. So his friends came up with a plan and somehow it worked.

They knew Jeremy very well, they knew if they would talk about his status and attitude, Jeremy will come in their talks. His friends brought up about the difference in their living standards and professions.

They brought up more beautiful girls who are waiting to date him while he was dating a nerd. They laughed at him and that fueled more into the flicker of the arrogance of Jeremy.

He realised who he was before meeting Serah and how much he has changed after seeing her. He gave up on the fun he had before and is living a boring life with a girl while he has an exciting life ahead and a line of beautiful girls to date aside from Serah.

Jeremy started up finding ways to break up with Serah. Day by day, Jeremy came to be behaving weird. He became possessive and found different ways to fight with Serah.

And finally, the day came when Serah was fed up with the daily arguments. She finally questioned Jeremy about his problems and he opened up the truth he graved in his heart for a long time. I never loved you!

Serah's heart shattered into pieces after listening to his brutal words. It was difficult for her to accept the truth that Jeremy never loved her.

She asked him to stop and don't leave her, but he didn't stop. She cried the entire night sitting on the same spot where they broke up. She hoped he come back to her but he didn't come, he didn't even turn back to look at her before walking away from the beach.

After searching for Serah the entire night, Cora finally found Serah unconscious on the beach. She quickly took her to the hospital and then Serah was hospitalised for a few days.

On the day of her discharge, while going back home, Serah witnessed the most heartbreaking moment of her life. Jeremy stopped his car right beside Cora's car when the signal turned red.

He was with a different girl sitting beside him in the car. Serah and Cora were stunned watching Jeremy making out with his new girlfriend in his car.

Cora couldn't see Serah crying anymore, she accelerated the car's speed as soon as the signal turned green and took Serah back home.

It's been a month, Serah doesn't wish to walk out of the house. She hardly eats anything which makes Cora stress out more about Serah. It's like a self-torture.

Serah believed that she was wrong which made Jeremy run away from her. In the beginning days after the breakup, she blamed herself for everything. She thought if she is the faulty and useless one on the planet.

But locking herself in her room, Serah luckily started up healing her pain by crying out alone and sharing her thoughts with her diary. To divert her mind completely from Jeremy, Serah decided to start writing a new book and put her best into it.

And in that book she wants the male lead to be exact her ideal type. Someone whom she won't stop thinking about and won't be bored to write about. Someone who will be exactly the boy Serah would love to see someday in reality and of course date him.

"How long are you planning on making yourself suffer? Move on girl! He doesn't deserve you! Don't ruin your mental health-" Cora stopped in her tracks when she noticed the sharp glares Serah was sending towards her.

"Do you really think I'm wasting this beautiful evening thinking of him?" Serah hissed. "I'm not suffering, let me tell you, stupid girl, I'm not ruining my mental health!"

Serah kept her laptop aside, getting off her bed, putting her feet in her comfy slippers and storming out of the room.

"What a silly girl she is" Cora awkwardly stared at her while chasing her out of the room.

"You have finally made a big attempt of walking out of your room, what about going out tonight? Please???" Cora pleaded to blink her eyes numerous times, trying to act cute.

Serah rolled her eyes on her and ignored what she said.

She doesn't want to go out in the chilly weather, it was snowing already. Serah pushed the curtains aside and peeked out of the window, at the street covered with snow.

This did nothing to her other than remind her about Jeremy.

The last Christmas Eve was one of the memorable nights for Serah, she was with Jeremy. She was happy with him, it was the best evening of her life.

Just like tonight, it was snowing the same way covering all the streets with snow which blocked many roads.

The road that came to Serah's home was blocked due to heavy snowfall too. Serah thought if she wouldn't be able to celebrate that Christmas eve but Jeremy made it possible for her.

Even in the heavy snowfall where news reporters suggested staying at home, Jeremy somehow walked to Serah's home with a bottle of wine, a wide bouquet of red roses, a real diamond ring, her favourite chocolate cake and packets of spicy chips.

He planned to take her out to a restaurant but it failed. Serah doubted how she can celebrate Christmas eve with him and didn't expect him to come to her home but he insisted she to get ready and she did.

Right after brushing some loose powder on her face and checking her outfit in the mirror, the doorbell rang.

Cora wasn't at home as she had to go out of the town for work purposes for a week. Serah was all alone at home.

She opened the door to meet someone with a bouquet of red roses covering his face. Serah was puzzled until Jeremy revealed his face to her, "Merry Christmas, Baby" he said in a soothing tone.

He leaned to peck on her lips making her all red in shyness. Jeremy did every impossible thing possible for Serah and never let her stay alone.

Whenever she felt lonely, she found him beside her. He was everything to her, she found her happiness in him. She never thought if the boy that completes her and never keep her alone would one day leave her alone with her heart shattered in pieces that are difficult to be healed.

Serah's eyes sparkled as she stared at the snow, remembering the night she spent last year with Jeremy. The love of her life.

"Oh please Serah! Let's go out!" Cora made Serah flinch in her place with an unexpected loud voice while standing right behind her.

Serah took a deep breath and turned around before wiping off her tears that were about to fall. She let out a sigh with a fake smile looking at her sister.

"Okay, let's do this" Serah shrugged.

Cora quickly hugged her tight. It was unexpected if Serah could agree to hang out tonight after a long time.

* * *

Serah didn't take much time to get ready as she did before her breakup. It took her almost an hour or more when it comes to going out even if it was going to the supermarket.

But now, she didn't take much. She wore whatever was before her eyes in the wardrobe and didn't think twice about wearing it or not.

Beige parallel wide jeans with a white full-sleeved top that was covered with a cardigan. Also, a long beige leather fur coat on the top and she was ready to go with a handbag in one hand and a muffler in the other.

Cora took her time to get ready while Serah sat on the couch in the living room, wearing her long boots.

"Goodness gracious me" Cora gasped as soon as she walked out of her room to meet Serah who didn't even care to put moisturiser on her skin before going out in the cold.

"Did you even wash your face?" Cora looked at her from head to toe.

"Of course I did!" Serah argued.

"You look uncomfortable in these clothes, they are too old and... And dirty" she said while looking at the coffee stain on the overcoat.

"Isn't it the one that you hated to wear because of the coffee stain on it?" She asked Serah.

"So what? Let's go, clothes are clothes. I'm comfortable in it" Serah stood in her place, ready to go out.

"No, wait! I can not let you go out like this" Cora quickly ran towards her sister.

Removing the rubber band and leaving her hairs open, Cora also put some moisturiser with a little bit of foundation to cover dark spots on Serah's face and ended up touching up her face by applying a red lip tint.

"Now you are ready to go" Cora sighed in relief looking at the simple but beautiful Serah.

"Oh wait!" Cora paused giving back Serah her glasses. "Now you are actually ready to go"

Serah was a girl before who liked getting ready and making herself look pretty and more beautiful than others on every occasion.

Actually, it was all for Jeremy, she did it all for him.

Jeremy changed her and she did. He didn't like wearing the same clothes or the ones with stains even when they can go away by washing them.

He wanted her to do the same thing as he had money to buy different clothes for her and Serah couldn't deny him as it also got him angry.

For Jeremy, it always came to his self-respect when he has to hang out with Serah. Making his girlfriend look more expensive and more beautiful than others was what he preferred.

He didn't hesitate to spend thousands of dollars on her. Because if he won't do it, he will be questioned and mocked by how a bad boyfriend he is to not even buy his girl a gift.

Nothing was more important for Jeremy than his self-respect and ego, if it gets hurt then he becomes a devil who doesn't listen to anyone and can remove all his frustration on anything or anyone.

For his behaviour of this kind, Serah had to change what she was even when she didn't want to.

"In which thoughts are you lost?" Cora snapped her fingers before Serah's face dragged her out from her memories. "We must go now"

Serah nodded at Cora with a shaky smile and walked ahead while Cora stood behind in her place. She felt bad for Serah, she can understand just by looking at her that how she is lost in her memories with Jeremy.

She knows her sister is still broken and the fake smile on her face was easily able to read.

"I hope someone comes into your life and reminds you how precious and rare you are. You deserve to be happy" Cora mumbled in a low voice before walking out of the house.
