Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 - Panicky Party Proceedings

There was no stop to this party. The flashing lights however had simmered down. Most figures were either tired from dancing, or too wasted to stand up. Figures still loomed in wait, while the stage was perfectly set up on the earlier empty beach. The sun, making its way to the horizon, a shimmering hue of orange covered the sky. The runway presentation was about to begin.

None of them had any luck in fulfilling their missions. Finnegan and Beast had spent the past hours scouring every nook and cranny of the place, with no rewards. Wazir was still missing. Both were perplexed as to how they could lose sight of the boy, and were more surprised at the fact that the boy had seemingly vanished into thin air. Nothing on the cameras, no witness encounters, Wazir was gone. They could only hope for anything but the worst.

Revan encountered a similar dilemma. Enzo wasn't anywhere in sight. Revan questioned the bartender, whose best answer was the tablet with a recording of Enzo letting the freak into his mansion. Neither of the figures could be spotted, perplexing Revan, considering how noticeable the muscular monster was. Nothing on the comms, no progress reports from Finnegan or Beast. This situation was mind-boggling. And then there was the fashion show.

Revan was seated in the makeup chair. The earlier empty hall-for-a-closet was now brimming with lights, people and the abnormally mixed smell of moisturizer and hairspray. Actors and models graced the other chairs, some with face packs on, others with their hairs being draped into elegant patterns. Flurry of talk spread around Revan. Some talking to their stylists, others getting talked to by their stylists and some just busy with their phones. A quiet woman with frizzy hair worked on highlighting the male's jawline. Revan's mind ran in a multitudes of manners in an effort to find a logical way to solve this. His exposed body glistened hairless. His pants creased and drained of life after traversing the expanse of Enzo's house.

'Anything on your mind sir?' The woman tried to initiate conversation. Revan noticed her lack of curiosity, as if she were obligated to engage in talk to get better ratings. Revan took his chances.

'Yeah actually.' Revan shifted in his chair to a more comfortable position for his buttocks, while the woman picked out the eyeshadow on the brush, 'Have you see Enzo anywhere around in the past hour.'

'Enzo Elziel, like the owner of this place?' She asked as her brush touched the closed eyelids.

Revan just hummed in agreement.

'Well yeah.' She casually replied, Revan froze on hearing that. 'He's been here quite a few times in the past hour. Mainly checking up on the progress of the styling.' The woman leaned back to grab more eyeshadow for the other eye. Revan knew better than to make a fuss at the moment.

'Did you see anything peculiar about him?' Revan tried to poke in a little further.

'Hm… I suppose.' The woman ran the bristles across the smooth skin beneath the bold eyebrows, 'He seemed a bit more rushed than usual. He was telling all those bimbo slackers to pick up their pace. Oh and he didn't have that netty shirt on.'

'The one from before?' Revan looked at the mirror. His face looked like a drag goddess, bright green hues surrounding his eyes and a lime green lipstick to complement the color. Sleek contouring for his whole face, and his hair perked up into a magnificent quiff, glistening in the dirty blonde color.

'Yeah. He was roaming topless, nipples exposed.' The makeup artist answered as she packed everything up.

'I see. Anyways, love it.' Revan complimented her facepainting skills, with a mild smile. She returned a prideful one herself, proceeding to wipe her hands, bow to the man and take her leave.

Revan picked up his phone again. No updates from Finnegan or Beast. Enzo hadn't replied to any of his texts. A mission handed over to them by the big boss wasn't one they could ever fuck up. Revan felt almost out of options.

A sudden snap of a finger in front of his eyes, jolted him out of his thoughts. Hands that he quite instantly recognized.

'Wow you're stunning!' Enzo came face to face with Revan, cupping both his ears.

Revan was speechless for a few seconds. His eyes fixated on Enzo's expressions. He wasn't angry, he was curious. Enzo's face had trickles of sweat on the sides, botching up his makeup, which Enzo had tried to hide by scrubbing off the marks. Revan also noticed, that under the sunglasses, Enzo's eyes had a pink hue, which meant that he'd been using his probabilities a bit too much, causing the blood in his eyes to traverse faster and in larger quantities. His breathing was fast paced, and his fingers found it hard to catch a grip on Revan's smooth skin. His pale torso covered in droplets of sweat, the stench of which he'd tried to cover up with deodorant. Clearly Enzo showed signs of stress.

'Calm down. Debrief me' Revan murmured. Enzo looked to his sides, most people were too concerned with themselves to look at others. Enzo let out a heavy sigh.

'The boy is safe. Sama has been dealt with.'

'Sama?' Revan could feel Enzo's fingers shivering. It had been a while since he'd seen Enzo being so precautious. He grabbed Enzo's palms, slowly caressing them.

'That freak. I brought him in, I asked him his name since calling him a "freak" felt inhumane.'

'I don't know what is more inhumane than being a zombie, but okay, go on.' Revan could feel Enzo calming down in his presence. God did he love this sense of accomplishment.

'It's a stable situation for now. Now all that's left for us to do is ace this gala and have our dance.' Enzo brought out a cheap smile, trying to slide off his palms when Revan grip became tighter.

'Emphasize on "for now". And don't you dare use your probabilities to see how I'm going to react to your words.'

Enzo gulped. His cheeks spread into a lovely smile, unlike the one right before, 'I'll call in my assistant to help you into the outfit. I'll see you on stage.' He booped his nose on Revan's, startling the blonde, right when Enzo pulled his hands out and walked off. Looks like Revan wasnt the only one good at acting.

A notification sound distracted Revan's lingering curiosity. It was from Finnegan.
