Asher watched the duke leave in a hurry, seemingly embarrassed which made Asher feel he was right.
The duke is a good man.
And, weirdly, he is adorable?
Asher nodded in agreement to the duke and watched him disappear through the door. However, he wasn't left alone as soon after the duke left, someone else came to accompany him.

It jumped up to Asher's lap, then rolled up into a ball and closed its eyes.
It seemed to get very comfortable.
Asher gently rubbed its fur and smiled as he felt really good about everything now.
Despite discovering a horrible danger he put himself in and having to finally confess which he thought would end up in hell for him, now he was feeling better.
It's fascinating how much things were different from what he imagined.
