Tanya's POV
At my signal, Abigail pushed the door ajar and gave way for me to waddle in. I did with her following behind, as surprise dawned on me at the space in my vision.
The room was thrice the size of the library I had back in my cottage and twice the one I had back in my apartment in the city. My eyes took in the floor to ceiling shelves lined with every genre of book.
I gaped in awe at the historian design of the area, the mahogany shelves and furniture glistening as if carved recently. I was so lost in my exploration as my hands glid across the series of books that I didn't see him till he spoke.
"Leave us," his thick tone uttered in dismissal drawing my attention to the direction of the sound. My head turned swiftly to see him reclined on a chair, his head cocked to the side and his focus solely on me.
The noise of the door shutting alerted my mind to Abigail's departure and made me know that I was all alone with a man I knew nothing about for the second time in six hours.
"Sit," he commanded and pointed at the chair opposite him, the wide desk in between. Mutely I obeyed, slightly scared and tingly at the same time from the way his gaze burned my skin.
I trudged gradually on the thick brown carpet till I gripped the arm of the seat and rounded the corner to settle in his sight. It became my turn to ogle him as I was not able to fight the realization that this man who was said to be my mate and the Alpha of this pack was one of the finest specimen of the male gender.
We both started at each other for what was supposed to be a minute as I observed his bronzed arms and biceps made visible by the the black tanktop he seemed to have on. From my position I wasn't permitted to see what he wore underneath and I wasn't ready to give him the pleasure of noticing me checking him out.
"I take it you've eaten." He raised a brow when I decided to act sassy by crossing my legs.
"Yes, I did," I admitted, glad my words didn't come out shaky.
"How was it?" He inquired, eying me.
"I won't lie, it was delicious," I confessed truthfully and ran my fingers atop my knee.
"Good," he mumbled and waved his right hand around the room. "I figured you'll be more comfortable here, being a writer and all."
"That didn't sound weird at all, seeing I never told you I was one," I snorted.
"I explained it to you, you are my mate, it's only right I know these things." He shrugged like it was no big deal.
"What else do you know?" I jabbed. "Go on, tell me. What is my favorite color?"
"Maroon red," he answered without missing a beat and sat up, his lips curling as he continued. "And I find that hot."
"You come across like you want to eat me up." I gulped, my nerves going haywire. I wasn't sure if that was because of the hike in sexual tension or the fact I was certain he wouldn't deny my statement.
"Frankly, I do," he smirked, proving me right. His eyes changed to deep grey as he whispered huskily "Every bit of you, till I have you writhing in my arms as I lay a mark on every inch of your creamy skin."
Fuck! That sounded hot.
"That is an inappropriate thing to say to someone you've just met," I uttered after I cleared my throat.
"Don't lie by claiming you didn't relish that." He bit his lip. "I can sense your body melting against your will."
"What did you invite me here for?" I blurted in query and feigned annoyance while all I felt was my pussy going wet. "Because I'm sure you didn't call me here to try and seduce me."
"Oh trust me, that is one of the reasons I brought you here." He winked, his orbs remaining in their deep shade. "You see you are my mate as I've clearly stated."
"Uncountables times might I add," I bit back, aiming to piss him off, yet he shocked me by letting out a chuckle.
"Yes," he affirmed. "And now I have you here, in my house, my pack, my town, it's only fair I do what's right."
"What would that be?" I quizzed, my hands shivering on the armrest.
"Make you my Queen," he declared. "But most importantly, make you scream as I pound into you."
"Shit!" I hissed in arousal and irritation as I let my right leg fall and clamped my thighs together. "Can you stop with the sexual innuendos for once?"
"I can't." He beamed, his hair falling on his face as he leaned forward, stationing his arms atop the furniture. "The smell of your arousal is invigorating."
"You are an animal," I gritted, fisting my palms and glared at him.
"That I am," he smirked, rubbing his jaw. "And that sassy attitude of yours would get you no where with me."
"I won't know till I try right?" I implored in a mock tone.
"You can," he murmured, his face going devious as his irises turned even darker. "I'll have a good time taming you."
"I can't deal with this," I shook my head and shot up from the seat.
"Sit, Down!" He thundered before I could take a step further. Goosebumps formed on my skin at his tone and trust me it was not the good kind.
Shivering in fear as he growled under his breath, I slumped back in the chair, swallowing the bile that rose in my throat.
"Never, walk out on me, understood?" He requested, word by word so I wouldn't miss the underlying warning.
"Yes," I squeaked, my gaze chanelled on my thighs as I wasn't worthy to bring myself to stare him in the eye.
"Look at me," he commanded in a manner that left nothing to question. Slowly, I lifted my head to see his jaw set and eyes fierce as they pointed at me. "Good."
Silence reigned for a moment or two as I watched the anger leave his posture and he slid his fingers multiple times through his brown curls.
"Now, where were we?" He asked and suddenly smiled.
He's a psychopath!
At that assumption I anxiously tapped my forefinger on the arm rest in the bid to soothe my nerves as he continued. "You wanted to talk right?"
"Mmhhm," I hummed and nodded, my brain not in the right state to morph letters into words.
"Let's talk," he smiled, folding his arms across his chest and relaxing backward in his seat. "Tell me your name."
I stayed mute, the fear of his rage keeping me silent as I only gaped at him.
"Sorry if I scared you," he apologized, letting out a breathe. "It's just, I get easily irritated and you are the second female after my sister who happens to get under my skin."
That shocked me and forced me to ask. "You have a sister?"
"Yes, I do." He laughed at my surprised utterance. "I'm like every other person so I have the right to have siblings."
"Sorry if that came out wrong, I just didn't expect it," I clarified, sensing my emotions return to their calm state.
"I understand," he concured. "My sister and her husband, my Beta are the only family I have, hence both my parents are dead."
"I'm sorry," I let out.
"No problem, it was decades ago, no big deal," he dismissed it and left me to wonder how many decades he was referring to thus he didn't appear to be a day older than 30.
"Can I see them?" I implored, apprehensive of his reply.
"You will," he asserted, easing my uncertainty.
"If you don't mind, how old are you?" I croaked out, twisting my fingers in my lap.
"I look 27 right?" He quizzed in a sinister smile. At my nod he continued. "But in clarity I'm 177 years old."
Getaway from me old man!
I choked on thin air at his statement, my eyes widening in surprise as a gasp left my lips. "Don't act so shocked, you already know we werewolves can live for many years except killed by a silver weapon."
"I did but it's one thing to know something and another to have the evidence before your very eyes," I gulped.
Shit!
"I answered a question of yours, it's your turn to answer mine," he grinned. "What's your name?"
"I thought you knew everything about me, so why asking?" I interrogated, tilting my head as I gradually regained my confidence.
"You are right." He unhurriedly lifted himself from his seat to reveal grey sweatpants he had below his black tank top. "I simply wanted to hear you say it."
"If I do, you have to tell me yours," I bargained, gauging his movements as he strolled round the desk towards me.
"That won't be a problem." He beamed arriving at my right and turning my seat such that he was standing in front of me, barely an inch between us.
"Tanya, Marie, Andre," I screeched as he planted his palms on the sides of my chair, trapping me. "Y-your turn."
"Beautiful, just like you." His lips curled as he moved a hand to my chin and rubbed his thumb there, causing my breathe to hitch in response.
"You still haven't told me yours," I insisted despite my hormones taking off.
"Diego Dante Domino," he informed, and before I could blink our positions were switched. He was now settled in the seat with me on his lap, my legs dangling at his side as my fingers clawed his chest for balance while his palms stationed on my waist, creating fire on the bare skin revealed by the hiking of my blouse. "The moon goddess sure did a number on me."
