This was Adria's first meeting with Inspector Jack. Only the inspector was not yet an inspector but a constable. Constable Jack locked Adria in a cell while the old fat man complained to the other policeman about releasing his bag and finding the other bag belonging to his female companion that was stolen.
Adria sat quietly in the cell he had been issued while jack tried to ask him questions.
"Hey, kid! you are not from around here, are you?"
Adria kept silent refusing to talk. All he did was stare silently at his interrogator. Suddenly, Adria's stomach rumbled in hunger, and this gave Constable Jack an idea.
"Now listen here, kid. Why don't I make you a little deal," he brought out a donut and dropped it on the floor. Just close enough that Adria could see it, but not so near that he could reach it. This was an attempt to pull Adria in.
