The aim was to perfect the soul, however, if memory serves right, This was what led to the creation of the blood demons or as they are called on the internet today, The Vampires."
Dr. Pearl stood up from her seat and took a stroll towards Mr chin-chin's Seat, she bent, bringing her face closer to his. "You are in charge of the finances of this company. And knowing the kind of person you are, I am sure the devastation that event did to your wallet still hunts your dreams to this day. Not just that, the company almost ran aground and the rising good reputation instantly went downhill. For that incident alone, you would have been a poor man begging for scraps at the doors of a strip house."
She lifted her head from his face and looked around the room, "This company would have all been done for if I had not pushed for my Darkling project."
Although it looked like she was berating just Mr. Chin Chin, everybody knew she was just using one stone to shut up multiply birds.
She came close to his face again, close enough that he could smell the scent of her shampoo from her recent bath. Her warm breath escaped her mouth as she whispered into his ear like an affectionate lover going for a tease, "So don't you tell me where I can and cannot take my CHILDREN to. Cause without them, you would be NOTHING!"
As she slowly pulled away from his face, her eyes met with his, their gaze clashing in the air. She could see that he was tightly holding his anger. But then again, that was all he could do.
Just across from Mr. Chin Chin, Mr. Ramond balled a fist under the table in anger, but it was not because of what she had just said, but rather how close she had gotten to Mr. Chin Chin. After all, from an onlooker's perspective, that was an intimate move.
They had only just entered the room and Adria could already feel that the atmosphere was definitely not in harmony. However, that did not stop him from exchanging eye contact with Emilia. This was one for Mother Tiger and zero for the wolves.
"*cough* Erm... Dr. Pearl! I'm sure that you have a very good reason why you brought in Darklings to a meeting with directors, Please proceed." Mr. Ramond mediated.
"Of cause," She broke eye contact with Mr. Chin Chin and went back to her seat. She tapped the table gently and a holographic screen appeared before all. "These are images showing the recent attacks on Avalon facilities in the last two months."
"Dr. Pearl. We are well aware of this. But this is not the first time we have had vampire-related issues with our facilities. That is why we have Darklings posted strategically at these locations." Another voice spoke up. It was the voice of a lady. However, in Adria's eyes, she did not look the part in the slightest bit. As far as he was concerned, she probably had as many muscles as Snowbottle did.
That was not all, her long hair was packed in a ponytail behind her, revealing her very smooth forehead. Adria had a feeling that the lights were probably low because of fear that the lights would blindly reflect from it. Ironically, her name was called Mrs. Sunshine.
"All they do is raid because of our very attractive Ryoeun cores. I do not believe there is more to it." Mrs. Sunshine added.
"I won't be so sure about that." Dr. Pearl motioned with her hand and the image changed. "As you can see, apart from the staffs that were a major causality, no ryoeun cores were touched. In fact, our records show that the cores section of these facilities was not even breached."
"Hmmm! So if they did not touch the cores, what did they come for?" Mrs. Sunshine asked.
"Well! let's find out,"
Shasha dropped the suitcase on the table and opened it, revealing its contents.
"They were after this!" Dr. Pearl dug into the suitcase and brought the content out and dropped it on the table.
"Are you sure!?" Mrs. Sunshine asked, "Are you saying that not once nor twice. The attack on our facilities was done by blood-mad demons just to get stacks of PAPER!?
"Hmmm... Yes!" She nodded in affirmation. "We were attacked for 'stacks of paper'. However, that is not the important thing. The important thing is what is written on these papers. Also, It will be wise to note that the facilities attacked so far have only been those that have been included to help in a particular project. The same one that has just been approved to be officially sponsored by the UC only recently."
"You mean Project Green Earth?" Another voice added. It was of an old man. He had a head full of white hair that ran down his shoulders and a beard to complement his looks. But if one judged a book by its cover, this man was sure to disappoint even though he used a walking stick. He was majorly in charge of the company's foreign affairs and how the rest of the world viewed Avalon. A lot of the worlds major media were within his grip and control. This included the famous, CUU and CBB news stations that had a far reach to even developing countries. His name was old man Cong.
"Yes! I am talking about Project Green Earth." She motioned again and the image changed. "According to the presentation given at the UC summit, this project is particularly aimed to terraform parts of the earth. To make dry lands become bountiful forests. And this is going to be done with the control of that..." She motioned again and the screen changed once more.
All that saw this had a physical change in their expressions.
