Chapter 7 - Disturbance In The Seas

Austronesian Empire, Imperial Majapahit, Nusantara, Near A Dry Dock In Nusantara.

2000, 1, 1st Week, January

Alarms were blaring throughout the ship as the sailors were engaged in general quarters. Sailors were frantically running towards left and right, hoping to arrive sooner to their intended location. Throughout inside the ship were filled with the hue of red from the alarms, not only that the noise that the alarms were making were almost deafening.

"Hard To Starboard!" The Captain said.

The ship immediately turned right in a forceful tone as the waves crashed over the hull of the ship. Deep below the ocean lurks a shadow that could may well be the cause of the end of the ship. However, the shadow bid its time for the perfect opportunity.

"Captain! They are all around us!" the man who was manning the sonar said.

"Should we proceed to attack the thing below us, Captain?" The man who was in charge of the armaments said.

"No! We are not sure what's transpiring here. We should wait for further orders from the high command. Furthermore, we are already near the dry dock of Nusantara of the Imperial Majapahit! We should seek refugees there for the meantime. In these kinds of storms, an enemy attack is highly unlikely! Not only that, the storm could interfere with our radars and sonars, so we should take it with a grain of salt!" The captain said.

"Aye, aye Captain," the sailors said.

The ship swiftly maneuvered throughout the makassar strait while simultaneously avoiding a fatal crash with the waves. Soon after, the ship was getting near the dry dock of Nusantara and so it slowed down to avoid crashing with the dock.

As the ship slowed down, the shadow lurking beneath the sea found the perfect opportunity and so it strikes. The shadow got near and near to the ship, and soon the ship's alarms blared once again.

"Captain! Something is surfacing beneath us, and it is moving too fast for our comfort!" A man said.

The Captain quickly thought of a counter measures as many thoughts race through his mind.

"Hard Left, Rudder!" The captain said.

The ship then turned to the left with force as the shadow finally surfaced and jumped upwards to which, after it descended and crashed into the waves. Which forced the waves to crash into the hull of the ship. The ship narrowly avoided being overturned into the depths of the seas.

"What was that? Did anybody see what the hell was that?" the captain said.

"Negative sir!" a man said.

"That is a danger to our seas. Prepare the depth charges! Whatever it is, is not normal, we should get rid of it!"

"Aye, aye Captain!" The sailors said.

After a few moments of maneuvering and the occasional surfacing of the creature that was lurking below the ocean. The depth charges were finally deployed and were fired below. When the depth charges exploded, a deafening roar resounded throughout the seas.

"What the hell…" the captain said

The rest of the sailors and the captain were utterly clueless as to what they have just heard. Was it not an enemy submarine? Or a new type of warship? Was it an animal they killed? If so, why are the animals of ocean are attacking a warship or a ship in definition? This was unrecorded throughout history.

However, their expectation would fall short as the carcass of the creature surfaces under the night sky of a catastrophic level of storm. It baffled them as to what they were seeing, even though the storm was partially blocking their view. One thing is for sure, and that is the creature was humongous.

"What could that be, Captain?" a man said.

"I honestly don't know. This is the first time I see that kind of creature in the ocean. We should report this to the high command, but first we need to salvage this ship as it is scratched all over it and some of the rooms are flooded. We also sustained some casualties." The captain said.

The creature in question was a humongous creature that sort of has a mustache on its face, it has a large row of teeth, and it seemed like a snake that has scales. Furthermore, it also had a few small limbs.

Unfortunately, as the ship headed to the dry dock, they would soon encounter another problem.

"Captain! Multiple bogies inbound!" a man said.

"Prepare the air defense systems. We're going to shoot it down. It seemed like nothing normal was happening all around us. Is this Armageddon happening?"

"Aye, aye captain!" the sailors said.

They then put the air defense systems on high alert as the bogies were incoming. Soon after, the bogies were insight and what they saw baffled them again. The air defense systems were activated and was fired on the bogies.

The bogies in question is a creature. According to the witnesses is that it had large wings, with both limbs as arms and legs, flying through the sky. It certainly looks menacing, however it did nothing to the air defense systems. As it was simultaneously fired towards the flying creatures.

Bright deafening explosions appeared before the sky as the creatures disperses. Unfortunately, the air defense systems were underwhelming as the flying creatures had strength in numbers.

"Crap! Activate the anti-aircraft guns and have the sailors man the machine guns to fire on those weird things!" the captain said.

"Aye, aye captain!" the sailors said.

Soon after, as the flying creatures gets nearer and nearer towards the warships, flickers of light then started appearing all around the ship as the sound of the gunfire resounded throughout the ocean. However, there were still some flying creatures that got through the defenses and so started attacking the sailors.

"Agh, ahhh! Help me!" a sailor said.

The man was being dragged by the flying creature upwards as if it was kidnapping the sailor. However, he was saved by another sailor as they killed the flying creature off.

A few moments had passed to which the warship had sustained some damages, however, they sustained heavy casualties. The flying creatures were all finally killed off.

"W-what is happening?" The captain said.
