When Laura reached the garden, she could still hear faint sounds of the music from the main house. She walked a little farther into the garden and then she saw the figure of a man standing a few metres away from where she was, his hands were in his pockets and his back was facing her. She recognized him at once.
"Avi?" she called out to him with a smile on her face. He turned around and saw Laura in the dress he sent to her not long ago and he fell into a daze, in the darkness she looked like an angel. She looked like the light that was meant to fill his busy and boring world with merry and happiness. When he finally regained himself, he walked towards her and stretched out one of his hands to her.
Laura also observed him. He had removed his jacket and now he had only his white shirt and black trousers on, he had rolled up the sleeves of his shirt as well. He had changed his shoes into a more comfortable pair of footwear and his hair was a little ruffled, he looked devastatingly breathtaking.
"Take a walk with me." He said, his hand still outstretched. She placed her hand in his and they started walking.
"I really like how this dress looks on you..... You look like an angel."
She blushed and said shyly "Thank you."
" It's one of the exclusive dresses that mum's company made a few weeks ago so I purchased one of them from her."
"Ohhhhh... Thank you but wasn't it too expensive?." She felt that he must have spent too much money on the dress.
" My money is yours..... or would you prefer me buying it for another lady?"
"NO.... I won't complain anymore" They walked hand in hand in silence for a few more minutes.
"You really surprised me this evening. You didn't even tell me that you were going to sing."
"I wanted it to be a surprise."
" Well you sang beautifully."
"Thank you." She smiled at him.
"My wife sang so well today so I'm going to give her a reward... Look." he gestured towards their side.
Laura turned her head to the side. She didn't see anything at first but then the lights over there suddenly turned on and then she saw a tree, the tree was full of green leaves. The beautiful thing about the tree was that lightbulbs of different colors were hanged on the branches. The reflection the lightbulbs made was beautiful, Laura's jaws dropped at the sight before her. Andre gave her her glasses so she could see better and it was even more beautiful than before. She then noticed that something was placed on the ground under the tree. She walked to the tree and when she got to where the things were, her eyes started to well up. They were framed pictures of Andre and Laura together and we the pictures were made to form a circle around the tree so she had to walk in a circle around the tree to see each of the pictures. All of the pictures were taken when they were unaware during the ceremonies, they included the ones Prem posted. She would bend down and pick one picture frame and caress it before moving to the next one, tears dropped from her eyes. She felt so much joy.
Andre walked behind and after a while she turned to face him and she hugged him. She buried her face in his chest.
" This is too much... I don't deserve all of this." She said in a croaked voice, she was on the verge of crying out loud.
Andre chuckled as he hugged her back and patted her head " You deserve everything and nothing less..... Come on let's go.... I still have something to show you."
"There's still something else?" she asked as she raised up her head to look at him. He nodded as he used his hands and an handkerchief to clean her tears and he took her hand and led her towards a bench. He sat down on the bench and she sat beside him. He brought out a document and a pen from under the bench and handed it to her.
"Here .... Read it and sign it." he says and handed over the document and pen to her.
She flipped through the document "This is an amendment to our marriage contract?" she was confused.
"Yes."
"But there are no changes..." her eyes widened as she finally noticed something. "Wait... where is the last rule?" she was asking about the "no love allowed" rule.
"That's the amendment." Andre smiled as he stared at her, she was still in shock.
"But why?" was the only thing she could utter.
"You want to know why?.... Follow me." He stood up, he picked the document with one hand and held her hand with the other.
He walked with her for a few metres before he stopped. In front of them was a small and simple cottage.
"Close your eyes, I'll guide you." He told her as he got behind her. She obeyed his command and she closed her eyes. He then guided her to the entrance of the cottage and he opened the door.
"This is the reason why I removed the rule... You can open your eyes now."
She opened her eyes and was amazed at the sight that greeted her.
