As I open my eyes the sun shines and I quickly put my hands over my face, confused I get up and look around.
There's tall trees all around me, grass plants and insects, Sun-rays coming through the trees it's serene and calming.
I look down at my body and find I have no shirt on just a simple black tracksuit pants, no shoes either.
I have an athletic body not the greatest but toned abs and a decent chest, I start to think "where am I, who even am I" many more questions start to flood my mind, the feeling of complete loneliness and emptiness fills me as I realize I don't know what to do.
I walk to a tree and lean against it to clear my head and form a plan, sometime goes by and I decide the best course is to just start walking as sitting in one place waiting for nothing wont help.
For then next what felt like hours I saw many interesting and beautiful sights, it seemed where I had woken up was near a cliff and as I was walking along it I saw long windy streams of rivers and vast forest as far as I could see, that sight gave me great clarity and a peaceful mind but seconds later despair not only because did I realize I really was in the middle of nowhere but as well I saw no signs of civilization which only means that I can keep walking, so I made my way down the mountain around the side thankfully it wasn't to steep and made my way to the river I saw.
By the time I got to the river it seemed like it was midday and my throat was very dry, as I knelt down on the river bed to take a drink I heard something behind me snap, I quickly spun around as the only sounds I had heard so far were insects and the trees rustling in the slight breeze, I strained my eyes to see if I could see any movement in the vast cluster of trees and bushes but just couldn't see anything, just as I was turning back around I heard light steps but coming at me way too fast.
It was like my body knew on instinct what to do, I quickly swung my body and outstretched my arm just as I had glimpsed at it, I caught it around its neck and what I assumed was going to be an unknown beast that was running to try and devour me was in its place was what looked like a wolf, it was tiny half the size of my arm roughly, pure black fur with bright clear blue eyes with red tipped ears and a cut going across it's left eye.
After realizing what it was and it not seeming to to be hostile towards me i put the creature down and as soon as it touched the ground it jumped straight into my lap, I was confused as I had expected it to run away or something but no it was in my lap scraping my chest as if it was nervous trying to get me to move and I'd soon find out why.
As it whined and kept scratching my chest I heard another snap of a branch myself and the little wolf instantly looked up synchronized and what I saw rattled me to my core, standing Infront of us was a 9 foot tall green humanoid it had a robe on with a hood over its head and I could see its face, its face had no eyes no ears just a mouth with rows and rows of razer sharp teeth, in both its hands were daggers, the bazar and monstrous creature seemed to be hurt though as I could hear its rugged breadth and could see blue blood coming from what appeared to be claw marks.
It was looking straight at us even though it had no eyes or ears I could tell it knew where exactly we were, all of a sudden it screamed piercingly the tried covering its ears obviously uncomfortable with the creatures disgusting scream, and in a flash it launched itself at us, by the time I had put the wolf on the ground it was already at us as it swung one of its arms to slash me I felt the same sensation as before as if my mind was clear and all stress left me my body knew what to do, I back kicked the creature right in the stomach and it got pushed back a couple steps, I followed up with a kick to its left hand that was holding one of the knives and grabbed it just as i caught it though the beast elbowed me in the stomach with unimaginable power, flying straight into a nearby tree that I caused a small crater in, I was slightly shocked that I could even stand back up, It hurt like hell but not as much as it probably should have the knife that I was holding was laying on the ground next to me quickly picking it up I looked at where the thing was.
The beast was making its way to the wolf and was about to pick it up when I dashed over and tried to stab it in the head but I was too slow and it moved away a couple inches and only managed to strike its shoulder, It screamed as its weird blood started spilling I stood Infront of the wolf and just as I was about to make my move I saw behind it 2 more come out of the bushes my heart dropped, I was confident that I could beat one but three I had my doubts, as I was thinking of a plan to somehow get both myself and the wolf out of this situation, to my disbelief the one that I had been fighting started to speak "hand us over that creature and we will give you a quick death, you have no idea the importance that that creature has to us" it said with a high pitched and croaky voice, I couldn't hold my curiosity back so I asked "tell me why its so important to you?" I could see them start to laugh and the one on the right decided to answer me "fine you'll be dead soon anyway ill enlighten you before we rip you apart, that creature there is a one in a million, an ancient being that has only ever been seen a handful of times throughout this worlds history" as he was speaking his nonsense about the wolf something had caught my eye at the corner of my vision something that I hadn't noticed until now, it read limitless and as I said it in my head a screen like menu enlarged and read:
Welcome to the limitless system.
to unlock all the features of the system escape alive with the wolf
death will fall on you if you fail
once I finished reading I couldn't help but feel elated and excited for what awaits me in the future, I was incredibly baffled and confused but excited to but why do I need to escape they aren't that powerful even with three I still have a decent chance and as if a god was listening, as soon as I had thought that the creature had finished his ramblings and 3 more came out of the bushes.
now I had no chance of winning and realized why the system wanted me to escape instead of fight, they all started laughing in a low and creepy sound and started to move toward us together, i picked up the wolf and my mind was in overdrive trying to think of what to do.
