Then, a peculiar sound echoed in the environment, finally standing out—a somewhat familiar sound to Kaizen: the beating of a heart, a pulse. He furrowed his brow, trying to locate the origin of this intriguing noise.
"You heard that too, right?" Kaizen whispered to Nix, keeping his voice low.
Nix frowned, confused. "Heard what? I can only hear the dripping of the slime."
