The next day arrives and Zex is ready for a another productive day. But before he heads to headquarters to go find another job, he decides to go to town, so that he can some clothes to his wardrobe.
Just when he is about to stop a taxi, he phone rings and he picks up and says " Hello."
" Hello Zex. It's Nalia speaking, the girl who helped you out yesterday." The voice on the other side of the phone responds.
" Ohhh yes, Nalia. Yes, I remember now. How may I help? " He respond back.
" Well I remember you said that if I ever needed help, I could contact you. Something very abnormal happened to my town and everyone who use to be there has just vanished without a trace. Some buildings are also missing and all the animals are also missing. If you agree to help and come meet us than I will come explain everything in more details." She explains over the phone.
" Alright, I think I understand the situation in some sense. But I am registered as a courier and not an explorer, so I don't have much resources or clearance to help you without getting my license nullified. Even so I owe you much for what you did for me and I think you are a very nice and kind person, so I will try to change my Class and Fang as soon as possible and help you. So I would suggest you come to Deriot and wait for me to finish my job change and then we can start with the mission you intend to do with my help." He respond in accordance to what he heard and was asked of.
" That would be great. I don't know how to thank you. We will be there by afternoon if we find a plane fast." She responds in a grateful voice.
" No it is me who should be thankful to you and this is the list I can do." He responds back in a nervous yet thankful voice.
" Alright then see tou later. Goodbye." She concludes.
" Yes see you later. Goodbye." He concludes before ending the call.
"Why did I do that? I could have easily refused in a nice way and could have just told her that I couldn't help." He thinks as he just finds the behaviour he was showing during the call was not really him. And even though he doesn't know he had fallen in love with Nalia, he does find it strange how he feels when it comes to her.
Meanwhile in Satio just have arrived there late the previous day, Nalia and Teris must again travel to Deriot to meet Zex.
Nalia after hanging up the phone fills in Teris of the new plan. " We need to hurry to the airport and get a plane fast, so we can arrive by afternoon." She utters.
" Alright I understand, but what about being closer for a while to the town?" Teris ask her.
" It's fine Ceria is very responsible, so they will be fine and we can contact them anytime. We need to go to Deriot and get some more help and come up with strategies on how we will approach this problem. We need to decide where we will go and how we will travel there and decide on other stuffs also." She answers in a calm voice.
" Alright if you think so. But there moment I hear something is wrong back home I will head back first thing." He points out to Nalia.
Nalia agrees and they leave for the airport. They arrive at the airport and are able to get tickets for the 09h30 plane to Deriot.
At Ridlaq Ceria and Liv are being asked questions by the authorities and the Explorers from Workfinder agency. Their questioning is almost done after some time, but just when they are questioned for the last time.
" So when this event took place, you two were not in town, right?" An old man in a black suit with a wooden walking stick asks.
" Yes, we were in the city when it happened. We came back and found everything like this." Ceria answers.
" And it was only you two, right?" The man asks again.
" We already answered all your questions already. Instead of asking us questions, you should be investigating the areas with unusual patterns we told you about." Liv responds.
" Liv behave yourself. I apologise for my younger brother's behaviour. And yes it was only the two of us." She utters.
" Alright then, you can go now to the station camps. We arranged for you tents you can use, while we investigate." The old man finishes.
The two leave the huge black armored car and leave the old man with two other people a man in his mid forties with a long beard and bald head and a woman with in her thirties with blonde hair and piercing eyes in a blue suit.
" Liv, you need to be more careful when you answer or else they will think we have something to hide." Ceria advises Liv as they walk away from the armored car.
" Well, we are hiding something and they ask to much, I mean is three times not enough? And I still need to investigate more." Liv responds.
Ceria looks at him and shakes her head. " I know what you mean, but stil we need to buy more time for Nalia and Teris." She reminds him.
" Yes ,Yes. Alright I got you." He utters.
Back at the armored car the three are discussing about the situation at hand.
" Sir Wiseman, do you really believe those two kids are telling the truth?" The bald man asks the old man.
" Well sir Riden, I can say that they are telling some truth and are hiding something at the same time. Considering the situation we have to approach this carefully, I mean we are investigating the disappearance of all the townspeople and some of Physical non living material. They all just disappeared into thin air from what have already seen." Wiseman responds to Riden's question
" I agree with you sir Wiseman on how we should approach this situation. And I trust we will be able to uncover the truth behind all this, since we have the sir Wiseman one of the seven S rank Explorers in the entire world and a survivor of The Hand continent. Am I not right sir Riden?" The blonde Woman says.
" You are definitely right Director Sophil." Riden answers.
" Stop it you two, I am but a mere lucky explore. On the other hand you two are respectably the President of the Workfinder agency and the Director of the WIENI( World Intelligence, Enforcement and Investigation Organisation). But enough of all that I think we better get back to the investigation now." He utters.
The other two agree too and they all leave the armored car and go to start the investigation of this mysterious problem.
While all this is happening. At an unknown location in a research facility the three men who attacked Zex the previous night are all strapped to beds in a room which is filled with technologies and equipments of different kinds and some are of future advancement.
" Please forgive us for our failure Supreme Scientists. He was just too strong and didn't want to come back willing." One of the three men says.
" That is no excuse to give, when you failed to capture one child. You are the disgrace of our work, but don't worry we will make you better now." One of the five scientists in an all yellow outfit utters.
" Please give us one more chance Supreme Scientists. We have already fought him before and we have some idea of how he fights. And he told us he will kill anyone else you will send after him, except us Supreme Scientists." Another of the three men lies trying to save himself and the other two.
" It's too late for that and when we are done making you better maybe we will send you again, but you are still weak, so we will send the hybrids after him." Another scientist in an all red outfit utters in response.
The five scientists then leave the room to go put on their work gear on. They return after some time and the three men start screaming as the scientists approach them.
Meanwhile Zex arrives at the Workfinder agency and takes the elevator to the second floor where meets up with Elden.
He then put on his smiling persona and greets him. " Morning Elden, it has not be long now has it?"
" Morning Zex. And yes you just registered yesterday and you are back already after just one day. I was sure I was not going to see you for some time." Elden respond starting with a greeting.
" Well, things happen and now I'm back already. If I remember correctly you said that you are the go to guy for anything here at the agency, right?" Zex asks Elden as they converse.
" Oh yes, if you need it I can do it or get it. So what is it that you are in need of my new friend?" Elden responds.
" You see I need to change my job Class to Explorer and Fang to rank A. And I'm doing it because of a favour I owe someone, so will you help me out?" Zex utters.
" Yeah, I can help you out I mean what are friends for, right? But for you to change from class to class will take some time. Since it's the Explorer Class your acceptance to take the exam is already guaranteed. Though you need to go to the sixth floor and fill in a form and after that come take the tests, you know the exam." Elden responds
" Thanks Elden, you really are a friend. Tell me when you are free and I will take you out for some entertainment as thanks for all you have done for me. I will come pass by after I'm done with everything on the sixth floor, alright." Zex utters as he leaves.
" Wait! I'm coming with you, I can't just leave you go do it all alone when you are still a newbie." Elden says as he stops him.
" I welcome you then. I do have a question though. Do you always become friends with everyone and help them like this?" Zex asks.
" Nope, I don't. I just find you interesting and you seem like an intelligent person, so why not befriend you?" Answers Elden.
" Alright, I guess I'm lucky." Zex says as the head to the elevator.
They take the elevator to the sixth floor and upon arriving Elden shows Zex how he has to do everything and help him fill his form.
After they finish they leave the floor using the stairs, so that they can converse more." You really are interesting. I mean you know how different types of martial arts on top of being smart." Elden utters.
" I learned them when I was young you know, it could not be helped." Zex responds.
" You really are full of surprises. Well, since youvare done with all that now only the exam is left. And just as you read it will 10 days from now, so expect me to be there to witness everything and I almost forgot can I have your contact?" Elden says as he takes out his phone.
" Ohh yes, now I just need to be mentally be prepared. Ohh I forgot I have some errands I have to do. Sorry but I got to run. Bye El." Zex utters after giving his contact information to Elden.
" Alright then go. And thanks for my new nickname and I'm going to hold you accountable for offer you made, bye." Elden utters.
Zex leaves him and heads for the exit. After leaving the agency he goes to search for apartments to rent.
Later during the afternoon's, Nalia and Teris arrive in Deriot. They find Zex waiting for them at the airport.
" Hello Zex, it's good to see you. How are you doing?" Nalia greets Zex as they meet.
" Hello Nalia, I'm great and how do you do?" Zex greets back.
" I'm fine in some ways I guess. This is Teris, he was with me when we met." She utters.
" Ohh yes, hello Teris. How do you do?" Zex greets Teris.
" Hello, I'm fine and how do you do?" Teris greets back.
" I'm great in all ways. But weren't there two other people with you last time?" Zex asks.
" Yes, there was four of us when we met, but we left the others back at our hometown. Since we don't know what truly happened we thought that some must stay to see if anything changes." Nalia answers.
" And we also left those two because they are the youngest." Teris adds.
" Alright. Well, you see since you were coming I searched for apartments wih three rooms and I couldn't find any nice and affordable ones, so we are going to sleep at the motel I'm currently staying. And we will search for an apartment tomorrow." Zex utters as he stops a taxi.
" I don't think we need to look an apartment, I think we should stay at motel for now. We might move around too much, so we can't have a fixed point." Teris says as they enter a taxi.
" We talk about that more after we explain everything to Zex, Teris." She utters.
The taxi drives to the motel, but soon find itself in traffic. After 5 minute tge taxi find itself out of the traffic, heads for the motel at a smooth pace.
Just when it is about to turn a corner a car at high speed pass by. The taxi driver tries to avoid hitting the other car, but still end up hitting a post sign.
The event causes Zex to accidentally teleport everyone in the taxi to an unknown place. After a second everyone finds themself on the ground and realise that they are no more in the taxi.
They stand up to look at where they are and are dumbfounded. All they see from where they are is a gigantic expanding forest on one side and mountains on the other side.
They then see a river near them, at this point they all are so confused they think they are dreaming, except for Zex who realises what has happened.
" Am I dreaming?" Nalia, Teris and the taxi driver ask themselves out loud.
Before Zex tries to explain whats going and tell them it's not a dream they hear a voice calling out to them.
" Hey humanas, run!!!" A young beautiful girl with pointy ears and blonde hair calls out to them.
Just as they try to answer her as they head for her, they notice her ears and they all stop, thinking "What the hell?".
" Why are you stopping?!" She asks them in not quite a loud voice.
They all look at each other and realise they are all seeing the same thing. But before anyone say anything, they hear a loud roar that shakes the ground.
They all look up and see a black dragon flying in the sky breathing out fire. At this point the taxi driver collapses, because of too much shock. There others just freeze like stones.
