He opened the door and smiled at the woman at the door. "Hello," he greeted her respectfully with a nod.
"Hello, master Wen," the woman returned his greeting with a deep bow. "How do you feel?"
Wen YanJun was surprised. He was ready to give this hotel a good rating for their service but . . . wait! He passed out; shouldn't he be in the hospital?
Perhaps he was in a hospital? He looked back at the room and there was no way this could be a hospital and the woman was dressed in a black suit not white, or was she a doctor?
Naah! None of these adds up. could there be a problem with the way the universe works with his return back home?
"Where am I?" he asked when he looked at the woman again.
She smiled and shook her head. "Do you feel any discomfort?" she asked worriedly when she noticed he appeared confused.
"I don't. I want to know where I am and my girlfriend's whereabouts," he told the woman firmly. That eerie feeling that indicates someone is either in trouble or about to get into one filled his mind as he opened the door wide and stepped out of the room.
"There is no need to know her whereabouts," a male voice rich in deep flavor filled the corridor.
Wen YanJun turned to the source of the voice and he was taken aback. The man was very handsome in the black suit he wore and it took him a few seconds of silence to recognize the man.
He gasped as he took a step back frowning. What was one of the youngest multi-billionaires in the world doing here? He looked around the corridor and he slowly understood what was happening.
He entered the room and locked the door behind him. He rested his back against the door and tried to breathe calmly as it felt like he was about to hyperventilate.
"Are you okay? I wanted to talk to you," asked that deep voice he was forced to recognize as the voice of the man whose arms he fell into in the restaurant.
It was a private room and there was no way that man could have come in, right? Did the man hurt his girlfriend to get to him?
"Where is my girlfriend?" he asked sharply as soon as he opened the door. He met the man's gaze as fearlessly as he could. He tried to ignore the words of his family members about the man.
He was a businessman and not some mafia boss he should be scared of. He was in the man's house and with the threat, they told him at home, he felt his heart race but he was not going to avoid his gaze.
"She went back to her office when we parted," the man replied calmly as he walked into the room as though he owned the place.
Well, he actually owned the place. Since went in, he chose to walk out of the room down the corridor but when he got to the staircase, he saw a guard at the door and he was forced to stop.
His pause lasted only for a minute as he continued down the luxury semi-circular stairway. When he got to the door the guard in a black suit met his gaze only for a second before looking away.
That was a sign that he could go ahead, right? He took that opportunity to push the door open but the door did not budge. "I need to leave," he told the guard firmly as he tried to open the door again.
He was ignored by the guard who did not even spare him a glance. He exhaled in frustration as he brushed his hair back with his fingers and tried to push open the double door again.
His shoulder only began hurting after several trials and the door remained closed. He took a step back as it hit hard that he was kidnapped. He looked back at the stairway before looking at his feet.
"I will report this. I will ruin your reputation and bring you down," he shouted threats he knew more than anyone was simple empty threats.
He did not have his phone with him and his wallet along with his clothes was gone. The tightly shut door was unmoving to him and he was locked up in this house that he once likened to a palace.
He could only call it a prison at this moment when what he needed most was a way out to meet his girlfriend. She could not have betrayed him as his family did, right?
The quietness of the house, made him realize that no one was going to bother him. Leaving seemed more luxurious than the house that was worth close to a billion-dollar in comparison to the multiple luxury homes he has been opportune to stay in or visit and those he saw online.
He swallowed as that comprehension made him realize how much of a prisoner he was. He was a fool to believe reporting could get him out of the issue.
His parents did not tell him who the person was. It only occurred to him that the power the man held was enough to make him disappear without a trace and no one will object or investigate despite his popularity.
For the first time in a long while, he hated how unfair the world was. He returned upstairs hoping he will have a way to persuade his abductor.
"I thought you were going to flee for good," the man told him when they met in the corridor. The man smiled pleased with himself.
Many girls would feel their hearts melt away after seeing such a handsome smile but he wanted so much to wipe it off from the man's face with the sole of his slippers.
"You are ready to talk, right?" the man asked him when he did not respond to his earlier statement.
"I want to go home," he told the man firmly since the man seemed too muddle-headed to notice that the last thing he wanted to do was talk to him.
"My name is Lu Mingyu and I am one of your biggest fans," the man introduced himself casually.
Part of that was something he was used to hearing from his fans but the man only made it the worst statement of his life and he will probably have goosebumps when next someone tells him that.
"Since you are my biggest fan, you should know that I have always dreaded getting kidnapped because I was a victim when I was younger?" he choked as the painful memories returned.
