Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6

It happened on a Monday morning. Jamie, sporting his newly designed bag and newly blonde hair, looked strikingly different. His bangs fluttered gently, framing his face and emphasizing his new look. He wore fresh black shoes, and his fashion sense had undergone a dramatic transformation after being away for a month. Jamie was nearing the completion of his analysis of the new world he found himself in.

He was dressed in a brown long-sleeve polo shirt with three buttons undone, exposing his collarbones. Gone were his eyeglasses, and in their place were comfortable black slacks. Although he didn't intend to look formal, he had grown accustomed to this style. Perhaps another day, he would opt for a hoodie and ripped jeans.

As Jamie made his way to class, sipping on tea—a stark contrast to the coffee he used to shy away from—he moved confidently down the hallway. Students watched him with puzzled expressions. Some thought he was a new student, while others found him vaguely familiar. Uncertainty hung in the air as he entered the classroom and took his seat. Murmurs of confusion and curiosity swept through the room, with many students frowning and whispering among themselves.

Jamie had an intimidating aura that made most students hesitant to approach him. Though he reveled in the attention, he preferred it when they actually spoke to him, feeding his craving for admiration.

When the professor arrived and noticed someone who didn't belong, she raised an eyebrow and called out, "Mister?"

Jamie looked up, confused, as her gaze fixed on him.

"Yes, ma'am?" he responded, his voice different from before. Although he sometimes stuttered under scrutiny, the new, confident Jamie basked in the spotlight.

"Are you lost? I haven't received any notification about a new student. I'm afraid I can't allow you to sit here," she said formally, with no hint of sarcasm.

"Oh, I belong to this class, ma'am," Jamie replied with a bright smile that drew gasps from his peers.

"Your ID number, Mister?" she asked again.

"Kim Min Jamie, ID number 1007013," he said, grinning.

A hush fell over the class. Even the professor looked astonished. Kim Min Jamie had been known as a social outcast at the university. Many students, and even some professors, had bullied him, marking him as a failure and denying him any chance. Jamie's charming smile only seemed to deepen the shock. He could see the professor blush and some of the girls' cheeks flush with color as they looked at him.

Jamie enjoyed the attention, reveling in his newfound status. He believed that a prince deserved the admiration and respect he received.

"Oh, I see. My apologies, Mr. Kim," the professor said after a moment.

"Let's continue the lesson."

The class proceeded without any major disruptions. Jamie was content to be learning again and received a notification about additional assignments needed after his month-long absence.

For lunch, he went to a nearby restaurant and finally opened his old phone. He found numerous missed calls from his siblings, one from his mother, and another from his father. He grinned as he counted them aloud.

"Eight," he mumbled.

"Nine."

"Ten."

Looking outside, he saw four black cars parked. Men in dark suits emerged and entered the restaurant, scanning the room. When they spotted him, one of them bowed his head in recognition.

The restaurant manager's eyes widened at the sight of the family crest. Staff members bowed, and one of the guards handed the manager a black card, instructing him to take care of the bills and dismiss the guests. The diners left, their faces a mix of awe and curiosity.

"Sir Jamie, please come with us," said the man who seemed to be the leader, his deep voice serious.

"Stay two meters away from me. I'm currently eating," Jamie replied, smiling.

The man looked momentarily surprised but quickly complied, stepping back exactly two meters. Jamie continued to enjoy his meal, savoring each bite as if no one were waiting for him.

He smirked, taking his time.

Now, the real adventure begins.
