Chapter 22 - Adam's Type

"Who's the girl?" Alexander's voice rang in that space. He had been standing across watching both of them talking with each other. The smiles on their faces annoyed him so much. To be honest, it's not like he was in love with Camellia to be jealous of Adam but thinking back, maybe he was jealous of his brother because he was perfect in everything. Perhaps it was the sense of admiration that lost his right direction?

Both Adam and Camellia were startled with Alexander's sudden arrival.

"None of your business." Adam answered without looking at him.

"Sure? Not this girl, right?" Alexander pointed to Camellia who was staring blank at him.

"Me?" Camellia held her chest. She looked at Adam with her eyes rounded then suddenly burst out in laughter.

Adam grinned, then suddenly put his palms to cover Camellia's ears, "I told you, I consider her as my sister. She's too young for my type."

Even with her ears covered, she still could hear everything clearly. Acting like she was hurt with Adam's words, she said, "Ackk! I'm hurt. I'm not your type?" Her signature duck mouth appeared again when she was pouting.

"I told you, I like a glamorous and mature type." Adam continued, shrugged his shoulders. They love teasing each other.

"Ouch!! Enough, you hurt me. " Camellia raised her palm and faked heart pain before she smiled, "so tell me, which sis who manages to shake Oppa's heart?" She knew about Adam's love story, and it's been a while that his heart refused a new tenant.

Alexander at the side, was left with curiosity. He had been clueless listening to their conversation.

"I'm still not sure about it. She was hard to forget." Adam replied to the question. Ten years, exactly ten years ago, she left him, saying their relationship was an obstacle for her to pursue her dreams. Her face was everywhere. Magazine, television and even ad billboards around the city. How could he forget her?

"Bring her to the wedding! I couldn't wait for this sister, she must be pretty?" Her eyes were glowing and looked very excited with the news.

Adam just nodded with a smile.

"Am I a wall?" Alexander interrupted their excitement.

"Are you not?" Adam said, just to irritate him more.

Alexander looked at Adam and reverted his gaze back to Camellia that already lost her smile looking at him. "Fine!" He left for his room.

"I'm doing great, right?" She asked right after.

"Are you playing hard to get?" Adam asked, trying to understand her question.

"Yes, he hurt me a lot." Scrunching her nose again, she stuck out her tongue looking at Alexander that was now entering his room.

Adam chuckled. He could understand why Camellia was acting childish, but he was still not sure what happened to his only brother. He had been acting immature since he returned home.

"You did great. He needs to feel his own medicine." He caresses her hair, "Don't sleep late, if you can't finish it, just tell me. Let's hire someone to do it."

"No!" She reacted immediately. Whatever happened, she would finish them and do everything by herself.

"All right." He nodded slightly, "good night."

Closing the door, she was back to her seat. Her eyes blinked as she noticed the box of dessert. She was still full from the dinner and didn't feel like she could feed more but her hands were still moving and opened the box. A green macaroon was taken out, and she took a bite, "Urmm, yummy!" It looked like she was wrong! She could fit some more in her tummy.

While Alexander in his room was in a faulty mood. He kept his chair turning around while his forehead wrinkled from frowning. His eyes did not feel sleepy anymore and his heart was unsettled. The phone that was on the bed vibrated, it was either a notification from messaging apps or his social media.

Another vibration came from the phone about two minutes later. Didn't find any urgency, he left his phone untouched. It was already midnight, whoever messaged him needed to be cautious as it could be considered disturbing his sleeping time.

Alexander's eyes were wide open when the continuous knocking came from his door. The sunlight that shone through his window made him close his eyes shortly before he rushed to open the door.

"What is it?" He asked with half opened eyes.

"I'm sorry Sir, but you will be late if you don't get ready by now." Aunt Susi, their head maid said.

He turned his head slightly, looking for the clock that was hanging in his wall, "Eight?!"

"Yes sir, it is already eight in the morning." Aunt Susi confirmed it for him.

"Okay, thank you." He rushed to the bathroom. This rarely happened as he was the type that was easy to wake up. Maybe because he slept late last night and had too much on his mind, that affected his brain. His brain must strive to sleep more as it had been exhausted for the whole day.

"Did everyone leave?" Adam asked when he reached the living room.

Aunt Susi nodded, "Except Miss Camellia, she went back to her room after breakfast."

He looked up, her room was not visible from where he stood. "Okay."

"Breakfast Sir?" Aunt Susi stopped him. She already prepared his breakfast while he was getting ready.

"No Aunt, I'm already late. I have class at nine thirty." He slightly shook his head and sent her a feeble smile and proceeded to walk out headed to his car. He needed to be quick, from their home to the university took about fifteen to twenty minutes depending on traffic.

Leaning to his seat, a call came in. He took out the phone from his pocket. Unknown numbers. He usually left the unknown number unanswered and it was the same this time. The phone was left on the seat beside him.

Ten missed calls!

He saw the notification that appeared after the call ended. Something must be urgent for him to receive ten missed calls. Quickly took the phone back, he unlocked the phone and saw two message notifications along with the missed calls.

[Hi Alex, how are you?]

That was the first message he received, that was sent last night. He continued with the second one, [It's me, Melinda. I'm sorry for the sudden message. Can we meet?]

His eyes furrowed and his heart felt like it skipped a beat.

'What does she want?'
