I lunged toward the old Demon, piercing through its chest, removing my hand, and flicking the blood off in one smooth motion before continuing down the long passageway.
Except, that's not what happened.
Where my hand was supposed to pierce through the Demon, was instead the old Demon's hand holding my own, their body otherwise unmoved.
The Demon held my left hand, reaching up with the other holding some sort of blade, and slicing my palm.
I tried to remove it multiple times, to no avail. Even attacking with my other hand or feet resulted in the old Demon blocking with ease.
As my pitch black blood flooded out from my palm before almost instantly repairing the damage, I swear I saw the Demon's eyes flash with the light of curiosity, even under the large hood they were wearing.
"Dylan. It's really you."
The voice that came from the old Demon was strangely… human-like. It wasn't scratchy and gravelly like a Demon's, nor was it deep and strong like a Beastman's. It was… normal sounding, for lack of a better term.
'Dylan. That's the name that Alex called me. Who is this?'
"Who are you? Do you know Alex?"
"It's me, your father, Kreechur. Don't you recognize me?"
Removing the coat, the old Demon revealed that they were in fact, not that old. They looked to be in the prime of their life. Well, I couldn't actually tell.
The hunch in their back was actually some sort of large bag they wore on their back, and the cane was just a part of their disguise.
Their face was naught but some kind of black haze with two white slits that had a tinge of pink in them that were seemingly their eyes.
When the ol- strange Demon spoke, the haze just shifted around near where a normal mouth would be located. It was one of the most unique beings I had ever seen.
The rest of their body was covered in small black scales, except for their joints which were covered in even smaller white scales.
Even stranger yet, this Demon had no horns.
"What are you?"
Still unable to move my hand, I decided to just ask questions, as the Demon didn't have any ill intentions towards me. Yet.
"I'm a Demon. I just like to… experiment. I'll tell you more about it later. For now, come."
Without letting go of my hand, the Demon picked up his coat, leading me off to the side of the tunnel.
