Chapter 26 - Ch.26 - Traitor

"Listen, 1 million years ago the golden dragon clan disappeared, and its secret realm also disappeared. About 300,000 years ago the realm made an appearance again and people found it. It was open for 10 years before disappearing again. This happened once more 100,000 years later. This is the 3rd time it's opened since the dragon's disappearance. Understand?"

The wolf nodded slowly, seemingly going into thought.

"So I want to ask you, is it really necessary to protect this clan any longer? The clan is gone, the golden dragons are gone… So rather than letting the clan's legacy disappear forever, maybe you should let it get passed down?"

The wolf looked up and stared at Zane for a moment. In the end, it seemed to sigh without the air leaving its mouth since it was undead.

It nodded, the moment it did a rune carved on its forehead in between its eyes lit up brightly. This rune was written in an ancient language called Chinese, and it was pronounced 'Wan' like 'Wand' without the D.

The glowing rune left its forehead and landed on the back of Zane's palm. When this happened, Zane felt a connection with the entire Wan clan grounds. He could control all the traps, the treasury, etc. Nothing escaped his grasp.

He found Terran pointing a bow at Anne with his arrow drawn.

Zane smiled savagely and triggered a pit trap below him. This sudden change startled him he let go of his arrow and it soared just to the side of Anne grazing her.

Besides the graze she was fine. Meanwhile Terran was going down a slide into a lower level, a prison.

Since he was there, Zane didn't have to worry about him escaping.

Zane looked up and noticed the judging look of the wolf.

"She's my sister, alright." He said.

The wolf's eyes made of flames seemed to make an eye roll motion as if saying 'yeah right'.

Zane just chuckled not bothering about it.

"Cant you speak?" Zane asked curiously. It would be very convenient if it could talk to him.

The wolf nodded and he heard crackling sounds in his mind before a distorted voice spoke in it [I-Is… T-This… S-Suitable?]

Zane had to put a finger to his ear and wiggle it.

He shook his head. "We'll have to work on it… "

The wolf seemed to notice he was annoyed and just nodded.

"So, do you wish to stay here or will you come with me?" Zane asked.

The wolf suddenly began shrinking its size, its previously intimidating form was strangely adorable now. It walked over to him and jumped up landing on his shoulder.

Zane couldn't help but scratch its bony head for a moment to which it playfully bit his finger. Zane couldn't help but laugh at this. He walked over to the golden pedestal in this room. On it was a hardcover book with its cover made from snakeskin. Opening the book he found that it was named 'Ten Thousand Undead Scripture'.

He curiously flipped to the table of contents.

[Types of Undead]

[Ranks of Undead]

[Strengths and Weaknesses of Undead]

[Preparing Corpses]

[Transforming Corpses]

[—]

There were many chapters covering all the basics of undead and the actual method of creating them.

This made him satisfied.

He also picked up the other treasure's in here. There was a spatial ring with millions of greater spiritual pellets and hundreds of thousands of greater spiritual stones neatly stacked up there were also a few thousand spiritual crystals. Then there were a lot of treasures that Zane didn't really care about. He had a good sword and some good defensive artifacts as well as a couple of life-saving treasures.

Then finally, there was the blood essence he was looking for. It was an entire vial with at least 100 drops. Although it was lower quality than his own blood essence it would still help recover any blood essence he lost.

He smiled, "It seems I have decent luck."

The moment he said that a woman in the depths of space snorted. 'Luck my ass, if it weren't for your identity and the nihility army I would curse you to high hell.' She thought.

She was the goddess of luck, a true god with a complete divinity who is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. Her divinity is that of luck, able to control the luck of all things living and dead.

Meanwhile, Zane finished collecting things before he left the room to find Anne.

After a few minutes with twists and turns, he arrived.

"Your alright." She said in relief.

"About Terran he—"

"I know, I was the one who triggered the pit trap." Zane said.

She nodded in a slight daze, it was then she looked on his shoulder and was stunned.

"Is that…"

Zane nodded "Yep."

"How?"

"It's a clan guardian, it's purpose is to protect the clan. Now that the Wan clan is gone, its purpose has naturally changed. Its new goal is to make sure the legacy of the Wan clan doesn't disappear, I intend to facilitate that by giving it a position in the sect I'll create." Zane explained. "So after a bit of talking, we came to an agreement. The rest is history."

She was stunned "You intend to create a sect?"

Zane nodded "The Saint Dragon Clan is gone, and it's not easy to create a new clan. So I intend to create a sect that anyone with sufficient talent can join. Those with the highest contributions will be provided with saint dragon bloodlines. The Saint Dragon Palace is what it will be called."

Anne nodded slowly. "Then I think I will join it in the future."

Zane smiled "Thank you, Anne."

She smiled back.

"Alright, let's go rob Terran." Zane said.

"EH!?" She was stunned he wanted to rob Terran.

"He's below in the prison, since he crossed us I'll rob him of what we gave him and everything else." Zane said.

"Wait before that, did you find the undead method?"

Zane nodded. "Come on, let's go."

They began walking through the halls before finding a staircase which they began descending. Eventually, they arrived at a door and entered. On the other side of the room, a cell could be seen. In it was Terran who had been firing his arrows at the cell to no avail.

The cell's bars were made out of top-grade runic jade with natural defensive formations. Let alone a martial realm like him, that cage could even hold in a saint for a few days.

*BANG!*

His arrow collided once more with the cage but his arrow only left a very small scratch which instantly healed.

"Get me out of here!" Terran roared seeing Zane.

Zane shook his head and replied calmly "Nope. You crossed my bottom line and aimed your bow at Anne. Your lucky I don't lose my shit and just kill you on the spot."

"You really believe her?" Terran asked angrily.

Zane nodded "Yes, I do. Furthermore, she didn't have to say anything, I saw it play out through the arrays in the place which is why I activated the pit trap."

Terran knew it was useless and took a deep breath to calm down. Zane couldn't help but praise this action inwardly.

"What do you want then?" He asked.

"Everything that we gave you, spiritual pellets and spiritual stones, etc. All of it back in return for me not killing you. This isn't negotiable, you got 30 seconds." Zane responded.

"That's too much!" He said.

Zane's eyes turned frighteningly cold. Thick-killing aura slowly began permeating the air.

"Do you think anyone can save you? There's no one here. I made damn sure of that." He stated in a tone so cold that it sent chills down Anne's back.

"You have 10 seconds to change your mind." Zane said coldly before grabbing Anne's hand and leaving.

Zane grabbing her hand startled her but she went along with it. Zane didn't even give Terran the chance to explain himself, and Zane didn't care why he did it either. He only cared that Terran tried to harm Anne, that was that.
