The divine realm was a turning point, anyone can reach the 9th heavenly realm with a little luck, and even the most ordinary individual can reach it if they have enough fortune. However, no matter how many resources you pump into someone, it won't necessarily make them a divine realm spiritualist.
To progress from the heavenly realms to the divine realms one must form a domain, to do this one must comprehend at least 3 barriers and fuse them into their first domain.
These aren't the kind of barriers you are thinking of, they are the foundation of domains. That's not to say they can't be used as literal barriers. It's just that there much more than that.
A barrier can enhance certain laws and elements its caster might use, it can also enhance the user's vitality allowing them to heal faster in battle and so on.
While a domain is on an entirely different level. They can suppress your opponents directly in battle, and they can control and alter the laws of the world inside your domain, in short, a domain truly makes a portion of the world your domain, hence they are called domains.
To progress through the 9 divine realms one must create more than one domain they must form at least 9 of them to fuse into a divine kingdom.
When Zane recalled this he suddenly had a flash of inspiration.
'What if I form hundreds of domains? How powerful would that make my divine kingdom?'
[It depends on how many barriers those domains are made from, say you made 25 domains, and each of them are made from 3 barriers, this would render you with a divine kingdom comparable to a 1st saint realm easily. However, sticking with the same number of domains, they are made from 9 barriers each… Even a 1st lord realm might have to tread carefully around you.] Alina chimed in.
[Let me be honest with you, it's more practical to form a domain made of dozens if not hundreds of barriers rather than hundreds of domains with just 3 barriers. So here's what I'm going to recommend, in about 7 years I will hand you a quest. This quest is simple, you have to go to a certain secret realm. You will find fruits that will help in your comprehension of barriers there. I want you to learn at least 10 barriers before fusing them into your first domain. Only then will you be able to compete with the geniuses from higher worlds.] Alina stated.
Zane nodded.
Moving back to the situation at hand, Zane had calmed down. Aurora was also a bit calmer, however, she was still trembling from time to time.
"Let's begin hunting." Zane said coldly.
Everyone nodded, they knew Zane wasn't happy about earlier.
There was even a bite mark on his chest where blood spurted out a bit but it was already scabbing over due to his recovery abilities.
Instantly his body enlarged turning into the size of a mountain, with a single punch he already killed several dozen mortal order spirit wolves, their 10 spirits gathered into an orb of light which surprisingly Alina absorbed.
[I'm not stealing it, I'm just storing it so you can focus on venting and killing these wolves.] Alina explained.
Zane nodded with that he stopped worrying about anything. He just wanted to kill these wolves, so he did.
*ROAAAAAR!*
In just 5 minutes he had killed hundreds of these wolves, opening his 32 meridians and awakening his bloodline had strengthened him considerably, so he was fully capable of fighting anyone in the 9 mortal realms so long as they aren't a genius per se.
Aurora could faintly feel that Zane was frustrated, hence he started this slaughter.
This made her smile brightly.
The one she cared for, cared for her too, with her childish mind how could she not be happy?
It was an absolute slaughter, this wasn't a hunt anymore, it was a slaughter. Everyone was angry that the spirit wolf alpha targeted Aurora, she was the last saint dragon besides Zane. So they didn't just slaughter the wolves that left the gate, Amelia even went inside the gate and brought the slaughter to their doorstep.
Since she was a 6th earth realm, she was able to handle pretty much anything in there, the elders weren't very talented creatures despite being made entirely of spirit energy. So she was able to annihilate them.
Gradually the slaughter turned into a competition though. One which Emilia was winning since she took all the good opponents from Elaine.
In the end, Zane took 3rd place in this competition.
In the end, Zane, his 3 sisters, his mother, and the other wyverns they brought along with them, were drenched in blood. Aurora was the only one clean as she was protected by the wyvern king despite him being thousands of miles away.
"You guys realize we just annihilated them, right?" the noble wyvern girl that was the first to challenge Zane asked.
Zane nodded "So? In the end, this is only an external source of improvement… perhaps it might be a good thing for future generations. They will work harder to make up for the gap of being unable to use this, this might result in hidden talents being brought forth and so on."
Elaine couldn't help but nod her head.
"Or it might make them depressed." The king voiced out from the sky.
Zane shrugged "What good is strength if they don't have the mindset to use it. As cruel as it may be, we don't need weak-minded people in our tribe, Aurora excluded of course."
"Fair enough." The king lazily responded, obviously he was busy with something at the palace.
Meanwhile, Zane cleaned himself in a nearby river before Aurora pounced on him.
She was pointing in a direction with excitement evident on her face.
Zane curiously looked in that direction and noticed a tall mountain.
[You want to go there?] he asked her mentally since it broadcasted intent and she nodded.
Zane didn't hesitate to transform back into his dragon self with a slight change, there was a spot on his back for aurora's figure to stand on and rest on.
She hopped on his back and they flew off.
Elaine rolled her eyes seeing this from the distance. "Honey, look after him please?" She asked looking at the sky.
"Fine…" The king sighed.
Zane wanted to process the spiritual essence he got, but to him, that could wait. He was curious about what got Aurora's attention on this mountain. After following her pointed claw he noticed a cave.
Curiously he circled around the mountain peak once before landing on the path to enter the cave.
He didn't hesitate to open his maw slightly and create a low flame to light up the dark cave in front of him.
He slowly walked forward with Aurora on his back.
*Thud*
*Thud*
Each step of his created a small thud due to his weight, admittedly he was in much better control than before the battle. Before it used to make the earth shake to the point of a minor earthquake, now it was like a human was falling on the floor with each step, admittedly much better.
As he walked deeper, Zane could feel that the spiritual energy in the air grew denser and purer. It was growing comparable to low-level spiritual essence.
When he reached the end he found that the cave opened up revealing a 3-story tall pyramid-shaped temple, at its top above the 3rd floor was a throne, a translucent man was looking at them from this throne with a smile.
"Welcome, Zane and Aurora of the saint dragon clan." The man greeted me with a smile.
Zane raised his guard, it's one thing to know he and Aurora are saint dragons, it's another to know their names. Obviously, whoever he was, he wasn't simple.
"Who are you?" Zane asked cautiously.
"You might know me as one of the 32 warriors. Or at least, I was a member in the past before losing my body."
Zane raised his guard to the maximum, 2 of the 32 warriors backed the dragon hunters, this guy may be one of the 2…
"Relax, I'm not one of the 2 idiots you're looking for… In fact I quite frankly like dragons. My wife was a paragon dragon 3000 years ago." The man said, pain could be seen in his eyes as he reminisced.
That pain gave way to anger and killing intent. "Alas… She was defiled and tortured before being put to death after my closest friends betrayed me…" He said gritting his teeth in anger.
"That's why I agreed to use half of my power to stop heavens will from destroying you and Aurora when you entered this world… I want to take a gamble that you would help me. I don't dare force you, but this old man would highly appreciate it if you could just hear me out."
Zane looked at aurora, obviously, she wasn't as she appeared to be, an innocent dragon child.
"Don't bother, unlike you, she doesn't have her memories from her past life. We had to sacrifice one or the other memory in order to protect both of you. I can't tell you much about it, but that existence heavily favors you for some reason." The warrior said sighing.
"Was she someone I knew?" Zane asked solemnly. However, he had a feeling he already knew the answer… There were only 3 people in his life that he truly cared about and they cared about him.
"Alexia." The man responded with a single word.
