It was the month of Sakura, the cherry blossoms of Japan and the spring time of Japan. From late March to mid April was said to be magical and bring happiness and peace in everyday life. Sakura attracts tourists as well as the natives because of its smell and beauty. It's said that this is the time of optimism and renewal. And on the other side, here we are, with Yori crying his life out because of his long lost homework papers. "Mom I'll go without them, guess I'll just give an excuse." Yori rushes to his school, as usual, he's late.
"I made a book of excuses one day, you wanna try that?" Daisuke asks Yori. "Naah I'll just say it drowned in the pool in my yard" "Seriously bro, grow up! She's not gonna take this" "How about I blame Nagata for tearing it! He's most likely to do such thing" "Yeah good idea! Also I'll bring a shovel too" "Shovel? Why" "To bury your dead body after Nagata kills you baka (stupid), just think something less stupid" "Yeah guess I'll have to... ouch, Sumimasen (I'm sorry)" Yori ran into a girl while Daisuke and him were having the stupidest conversation everyone had had sometime in their life. "It's ok, infact I wasn't the one watching, and also I'm new here so..." While she was talking, Yori's eyes fill with affection. He stares her and gets deep in his own imagination, where they both hold hands, take a bite from an ice cream, call each other babe or baby all day, and all the cringe stuff you can imagine. Afterall, it was his puberty age, it was obvious he'll be attracted to every 3rd girl in a group. His heart told him that this was true love. Kids really are stupid in their puberty ages. "Sakura". A word is heard by Yori and he gets concious. "Huhh?" Yori's reply to the sweet voice. "Watashiwa Sakura desu. (I'm Sakura)" and she brings her hand foreward to shake his hand. Trembling and shaking with nervousness, Yori brings his hand in the front and as he touches her soft delicate hands, his younger brother in his pants stands up making him sweaty and nervous. There's a minute silence in the corridor as that incident is not only noticed by Sakura or Daisuke, but also the rest of the students standing there watching the drama, including the Nagata group. Sakura leaves with no emotions on her face, saying nothing. Puberty IS a bullshit.
3 periods have passed and Yori's mind is totally diverted in the "pants" situation. He has a 1000 different thoughts, imagining different situations, consequences, and things he should have done at that moment. He's totally embarassed and was sad about his first impression on Sakura. He didn't have any idea who that girl is, but wanted to stay close with her, but this situation fucked up everything. He gave up thinking and asked Daisuke about what should he do next. "Confront her." Daisuke replied. "See bro you gotta face her today or tomorrow, as she's in our section now, i think you should confront her about this and apologize during the recess." "Wouldn't it be weird for her? What will she reply!" "No it wouldn't, she'll probably say it's ok or something, just do what I say if you wanna earn your first impression good." Paying no attention to their maths teacher explaining whole numbers, their whole plan was set in that period.
Bell rings, and as kids, everyone shouts and rushes to go to meet their girlfriends, their brothers from another mothers, to snatch their friends lunch box or to just stand in the pee line like you're meeting a celebrity outside the washroom. Yori along with some others were there in the class. He approaches Sakura, with his lunch box filled with sandwiches. "I'm... actually sorry about...the... about..." "...the earlier situation he means" Daisuke completes his sentence. "I know, I mean I think it's ok because it's our puberty ages, these things happen." Sakura seems pretty intelligent in these situations, she handles and replies it carefully without making it awkward for Yori. "Yori desu." Yori tells her his name, being a little too formal to her. "Bro, I'll leave now, i gotta pee right now or else my bladder will burst!" Daisuke whispers to Yori and leaves.
"My father always gets transferred somewhere or the other so our family is always moving here or there, it gets really tough too because schools and some facilities take time. We were 2 years in Kyoto then got shifted and came here in Tokyo. I don't even know why am I here in this school, i might stay less than a month here because soon my father will get promoted and will get a transfer again, but this time to South Korea I feel." "Do you wanna go to South Korea?" "I love South Korea, it's people, it's food, it's places, the kpop industry, everything. I just wish to live there the rest of my life. I'm even learning Korean for that haha." "Aah I know a word in Korean, I guess it's "Saranghae", what does it mean though?" "I'm not gonna say it you baka, I won't get tricked hahaha. Where do you wanna live though? What's your dream place to visit or settle?" "I wanna visit every country in the world, like travel a lot! But i think I'll have to say, India. I love it's food and also there are many places to visit there too! It's a country with wide diversity in cultures and religions and it's temples are engraved smoothly with skills! And that's why I'm studying Hindi hahaha, it's the most spoken language there." "Aahhh Hindi! I know one line in Hindi too, can you say what it means. "Tum chutiya ke bacche ho. (You're the son of an idiot)" "Aah I don't think I know this sentence." Yori couldn't do less but ignore that because he knew what it meant. They talked a lot about places, interests, their personal lives, and many many more making the whole 20 minutes of recess worth it. It was the first time Yori finished his lunch box and was proud of it. He felt great and relaxed after having a private chat with Sakura, probably the cutest girl of Hibiya Highschool now. Yori wasn't worried at all about others hitting on Sakura as he knew he has already set up a base with her and soon will become close to her. I guess these would really be the special 2 weeks of Sakura for Yori.
