Chapter 7 - 07. A Sad Day

In fact, Caitlin hated to admit that she didn't like being around her school.

It should have been a fun place to study, where Caitlin didn't have to worry about everything related to home and the problems in her life.

At school, Caitlin should be able to study comfortably and play happily with her other friends. As a teenager, Caitlin should be able to feel it, all right?

But, in this one environment, Caitlin honestly hated it so much. She preferred to be at home with her grandmother—although inside, she liked to feel sad because of her condition, Caitlin thought it was better than spending time at her school.

At that school, Caitlin became a victim of school violence, she often received bullying from her school friends, but no one ever acted to help because Caitlin had never complained about it to her school.

The poor girl didn't have anyone to defend her, nor had anyone willing to be a witness for all the things she had done because they too were afraid they would suffer the same fate as Caitlin right now. So, instead of getting into the existing problems, they also preferred to remain silent and not interfere, making Caitlin the only one who felt this sad thing.

Say sorry, of course, they pity. But, what can they do about the children who have significant influence at the school? Of course not, instead of helping Caitlin get the freedom they want, they will also be involved and become the next victim of bullying.

It's a very sad school environment, but it can't be helped, no one really dares to fight back.

"I told you to buy me vanilla milk instead of chocolate! Are you deaf?!"

Caitlin fell forward because one of the students in her class had just pushed her body, only because she was annoyed that the milk Caitlin bought in the cafeteria was not what she wanted. Yet as Caitlin recalled earlier, the girl had said chocolate instead of vanilla.

If it was like this, then Caitlin knew that she was deliberately being blamed, so she intended to bully her. So what can Caitlin do? Of course, nothing but begging for forgiveness.

"I-I heard you say chocolate instead of vanilla—ARGH!"

One of the girl's legs pressed against her body which was still under the floor. Caitlin groaned in pain, the girl's stomping was not a joke and not just a joke. She stepped on and pressed her foot against Caitlin's body.

"I-it hurts Laura… let go of me."

"Won't! You should be punished for daring to argue with me and blame me! But here you are in the wrong!" replied the girl named Laura angrily.

Caitlin didn't have the strength to fight back, nor did she dare to do anything because she knew that if she fought back, things would get worse. All Caitlin could do was accept the pathetic treatment she had to take and endure until they graduated.

Caitlin couldn't stop halfway. She didn't want to disappoint her Grandma and Caitlin also knew that giving up wasn't her choice at this point. As hard as Caitlin had to go through her school days, she knew she had to persevere. It's all for the sake of her Grandma, Caitlin doesn't want to destroy everything she's fought for just because she wants to give up all this bullying.

"Raiga, take the bag and you guys take this bitch to the back of the school. We'll have fun," Laura said with a sly smile now plastered on her face.

The girl walked first, became a guide to the back of the school and waited for her other friends to bring what she had ordered. Laura was bored and needed a little entertainment, so annoying Caitlin was one of her favorite things.

Caitlin was nothing to her. She was just a timid schoolgirl with nothing, so it was very pleasant to bother her because she was also very obedient and always willing to do what Laura asked. Caitlin was like her doll and Laura loved that.

Laura entered the warehouse behind the school that was no longer used, she had access to every room in this school because Laura was the daughter of the owner of the school, so it was not difficult for the girl to get all the keys for every room. After all, this warehouse had also become a place she used to play with Caitlin. You could say that this room seemed to belong to Laura, who couldn't be bothered anymore.

"Argh!" Caitlin groaned in pain as one of Laura's friends pushed her until she fell to the floor in the school's warehouse.

Her whole body ached so badly from having received so much physical violence from all of them. However, Caitlin was still trying to hold on because she usually always got the same or even more of this.

"Open the bag and take out the lunch box!" Laura ordered one of her men.

The girl was now sitting in one of the chairs with Caitlin under her kneeling. One of the men carrying Caitlin's bag then started to open it and took out the lunch box as Laura had ordered.

Caitlin always brought her lunch that she had prepared from home. The girl had to suppress all expenses because she only had a meager amount of money, so every day, Caitlin brought her lunch with minimal side dishes. She could still eat whatever was most important, and so could her grandmother.

The food had changed hands to Laura, and the girl inhumanely started to open the food container and then spilled all the food on Caitlin's head until all the contents in there fell on the girl.

Caitlin couldn't help but cry because there wasn't anything else she could do but cry. Let Laura do whatever she wants because Caitlin can never fight back.

"People like you deserve to be punished. At this rate, you don't need to eat until the school bell rings. Just ask your Grandma to cook it when you get home. Oh, I forgot that you cooked all this, then you don't have to eat it, hahaha."

What a cruel way they treated Caitlin, there were four girls there and they were all heartless. They treated Caitlin like a piece of trash that deserves to be trampled on when they behaved like trash themselves.

"H-help me… please…."

"No one will want to help you!" Laura crouched down, then tugged at Caitlin's hair for the girl to turn to face her. "Remember carefully! Please don't make the mistake of buying what I want, or else you'll end up like this again. Do all my orders properly if you don't want to be treated like this again!"

After releasing Caitlin's hair and pushing the girl with her feet, Laura finally started to leave the warehouse and wanted to leave Caitlin alone. But before she could leave, she had another word to say to Caitlin. "You don't have to go to class today! You play truant, take it as an additional punishment from me, hahaha!"

Caitlin's eyes went wide, she couldn't be skipping class! Caitlin didn't want her grades to be wrong and didn't like the teacher giving her bad grades.

Caitlin tried to get up, running towards the door, but her movement was too late because Laura had already closed the barn door and then locked it from the outside. Leaving Caitlin in there for who knows how long, Laura planned to free Caitlin only at lunchtime.

Caitlin fell to the ground, tears streaming down her cheeks. The girl was crying over her condition that looked so pitiful, she couldn't even open the warehouse door because it was locked from the outside. However, Caitlin didn't want her to miss class and ruin her grades.

"Please, get me out of here… anyone, please," Caitlin said softly, knowing there was no way anyone could hear her voice. But Caitlin kept trying, she kept talking, hoping for some miracle to come that this barn door would open.

"Please…." One more time, the girl tried.

Caitlin now could only sit and lean against the door, her hands wrapped around her knees as the tears still didn't stop flowing. Her appearance was disheveled, there was rice and some side dishes that were still perched on her hair and Caitlin didn't even think about tidying it up in her head at this moment, only thinking about how she could get out and kept saying words of help there.

A few minutes later, out of nowhere this miracle came, but suddenly Caitlin heard the sound of the door opening from outside, followed by a light creeping in because the door was wide open by now.

Caitlin immediately stood up, looking outside to see who had opened the barn door, but she couldn't see anyone. No one was there. However, because she didn't want to worry about who had opened the warehouse door for her, Caitlin preferred to take her bag and pack her things quickly.

The girl chose to go back to class immediately because she didn't want to miss class.

'To anyone who has helped me thank you very much,' Caitlin said in her heart as she made her way out of the room.
