Ning Yao listened attentively, even occasionally taking initiative to ask questions when she didn't understand some of the things he said.
"Is there anything else you don't understand?" asked Clarence by the time he was done.
Ning Yao was a little embarrassed. "I don't have any more questions." After a pause, she turned to look at Clarence curiously. "But... Mr. He, why are you telling me all this?"
After all, some of the things he had just told her were trade secrets.
Clarence smiled and closed the contract folder. "I was in a good mood, so I just felt like talking more than usual. If you think I'm being too talkative, then I won't say any more."
Ning Yao hurriedly shook her head. "Why would I? I gained a lot from listening to you."
She was simply too willing to listen.
Clarence nodded. "Then remember to make me happy in the future, then I'll tell you everything."
Ning Yao blinked her big bright eyes and looked at Clarence in confusion. 'He wants me to make him happy?' She could not read his mind, so how would she know what to do to make him happy?
"Alright, get ready. We're leaving soon." Clarence looked at his watch.
"Alright!" Ning Yao nodded. "Mr. He, I wish us a smooth negotiation!"
Clarence's eyes became more profound as he watched Ning Yao go back to her desk to sort out the documents.
He had long since understood Ning Yao's background.
He knew that she had cut off all ties with her family in order to escape an arranged marriage. That was how she ended up living alone while studying and working multiple part-time jobs. She did not look like a young rich lady at all.
When he had initially learned of this, his heart ached to death.
After observing her for a while, he deduced that she must be working hard and saving up to start her own business in the future.
Although he had already built his own business empire and money was nothing to him, he was willing to support Ning Yao unconditionally.
But he couldn't do anything now, at least not rashly and too openly. He had to find a way to help her from the shadows.
He had also started from scratch, so he knew how difficult it would be for her. Others only saw his success now, but no one knew how many difficulties and desperate situations he had gone through alone.
He had once failed in his investment and lost all his money. In the end, he couldn't even afford to pay rent and his people eventually left him. He was left completely alone.
Back then, he had even thought about leaving the human world and returning to the mountains to continue his peaceful life.
However, he decided against it and continued to persist.
He knew that even if he returned to the mountains, he would not be able to forget her. He would still want to find her.
He chose to continue fighting and become the most powerful person in the world. Then, he would find and protect her.
Just as he was lost in his thoughts, Ning Yao said, "Mr. He, let's go."
"Sure." Clarence returned to his senses and looked at the cute girl in front of him. He smiled.
He did not break the oath he had made. That was probably why God had sent her to him.
Soon, the group from Glory World Corporation arrived at the city's landmark building, the 562-meter-tall Pearl Tower!
They took the elevator to the private room where everyone from the other party was already there. Both parties sat across from each other at the long table.
The negotiation began. Both parties first determined some non-controversial terms in the contract. However, when it came to the transfer price of the machines, the other party wanted to raise it.
Glory World obviously did not agree and the two sides immediately started arguing.
Ning Yao watched as the people from both sides of the table started to turn red. She was afraid that they would start breaking things in the next second.
However, Clarence had specifically told her that the negotiations might fall apart beforehand and that she should not be afraid.
When Ning Yao remembered this, she felt a little warm on the inside. She was surprised Clarence had been able to think things so thoroughly and far ahead.
She recollected her thoughts and watched the two sides negotiate seriously. Gradually, she noticed a few small details.
The other party was selling the entire product line, so that batch of machines was equivalent to a hot potato to them. The machines would not be of use to them at all.
However, they were not willing to sell it to Glory World at a discount, so they wanted to put up a fight.
To Glory World, these machines weren't that important either. They had the means to purchase more advanced equipment with just a little more money.
So, Clarence wasn't in a hurry at all. No matter how much the other party threatened and argued, he would stand his ground and make the other party break down before he did.
