In the swaddling clothes there was only a card with Oskar's basic information:
Oskar, born six days and eight hours ago, a Chinese-American mixed child.
The brief information didn't lead to finding his birth parents; three months after the orphanage took him in, they discovered the child had congenital heart disease.
This was likely the reason his parents abandoned him.
"We also invited many doctors to treat him, just like the classmate just mentioned, the best treatment is a heart transplant, but the surgery is expensive, and our orphanage's funds are ultimately limited…"
The director sighed, seemingly helpless. Not to mention providing Oskar with a heart transplant, even the orphanage's monthly expenses were more than it could afford. How could they possibly pay for such an expensive surgery?
Tara Summer listened, feeling increasingly distressed. Thinking of Oskar's pitiful background, she couldn't agree with the actions of the parents who abandoned him!
