It was already late at night, and the entire building was quiet. The inpatient department had mostly turned off its lights, with only a few office floors still lit.
Since entering the office, the three women hadn't switched on the lights. Each holding a phone, they sat on the sofa, constantly vigilant of any sound from the office door.
However, their anxiety was unnecessary, as the on-duty nurses were still doing their last rounds, meaning people would be passing through the floor frequently, so the man delivering flowers would definitely not come at this time.
The three women had also timed it well to sneak into the office during the nurses' and doctors' rounds, thus avoiding being discovered by other colleagues.
"Doctor Summer, your phone is ringing," Lana Fisher reminded Tara Summer, who had just walked over to the window.
"Got it," Tara Summer nodded, knowing who it was without having to check.
