The mall was of a medium to small scale, not extravagant in size and the prices were quite reasonable. Walter Schmidt intentionally avoided high-end malls to prevent Tara Summer from reminiscing about the past and becoming upset.
Walter chuckled self-deprecatingly, feeling conflicted about himself. He wanted Tara to confront her past, but at the same time, he didn't want her to feel sad. He couldn't understand his own feelings!
The two stayed in the mall for an hour, picking out some simple clothing. While Tara was changing, Walter made a call to a five-star hotel in the city center, the Purple Mist Hotel, and booked two suites.
Once Tara had finished trying on the clothes, they headed directly to the hotel.
The Purple Mist Hotel was near the mall and took less than ten minutes to drive there.
