"Ah!" She exclaimed, feeling a sharp pain in her right hand. She looked down to see the needle of the syringe had pierced her skin.
Furrowing her brow, she endured the pain and removed the needle. A thin trickle of blood flowed out from the tiny wound. Tara Summer quickly grabbed a bandage from a nearby medicine cabinet and applied it, then immediately returned to her reading.
"Doctor Summer." The knock of a nurse emanated from within the sterile room.
Tara Summer exited at the sound of the knocking and saw Mae May, Lana Fisher, Gavin Wilson, and Mark Lee standing outside. The faces of the four of them were flushed with unrestrained joy.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Doctor Summer..." The one speaking was Mark Lee, breaking into an even bigger grin as he started speaking, "The experiment we just conducted failed again, so I took it upon myself to add another drug, and surprisingly it had an effect!"
"Really?" Tara Summer rejoiced.
