The two men stood in the dawn, quietly smoking, speaking no words, until Fierce Eagle stepped onto the balcony.
"Master, Young Madam is awake!" he announced loudly, unable to suppress the joy on his face.
Liam Yancey's body jolted, and without a second's hesitation, he stubbed out the cigarette and quickly walked into the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, Tara Summer had just awakened. She was leaning against the head of the bed, and her small face under the light seemed as pale as paper, appearing as though she would vanish from weakness.
The man's heart experienced waves of piercing pain. He hastily stepped forward to take her into his arms and cradle her in his chest.
"How are you? Does it still hurt?"
Tara Summer shook her head, looking at the urgency and bloodshot eyes of the man, her heart ached: "I'm fine, it doesn't hurt anymore …"
Her voice was hoarse, and after she finished speaking, her body uncontrollably trembled, and her brows knitted together.
