Tara Summer had her phone in hand, reaching out to Liam Yancey for the first time in many days.
The call connected surprisingly quick, the phone ringing only a few brief times.
"Tara?" A deep, magnetic voice emanated from the other end of the phone. The familiar voice instantly gripped her heart, leaving her gasping for breath.
"Don't you owe me an explanation?" Tara stood against the floor-to-ceiling window with the phone to her ear, her legs going weak the moment Liam called her by name. She nearly collapsed onto the floor.
She forced herself to stay supported, desperately trying to calm herself down.
A moment of silence ensued on the other end, faint sounds of an engine audible. Then, finally, Liam spoke, "I'll be there in ten minutes."
Before she could respond, the call was abruptly cut short.
Tara stood motionless, her phone still pressed to her ear. After standing there for a long while, she finally lowered her hand and walked towards the balcony.
