Out of the five samples, the results were similar in four of them; the drug had not successfully killed the cancer cells.
Although the last sample also wasn't successful, the cancer cells didn't seem as active as the rest. They appeared somewhat sluggish and lackadaisical.
Tara Summer was elated, seeing this as a considerable breakthrough. She took out that blood sample and cultured it again, yielding the same results.
She laughed joyously and left the sterile room with the sample in hand.
By then, Gavin Wilson and Mark Lee had already left their respective sterile rooms and shook their heads when they saw her.
Tara Summer removed her mask and smiled, "I've made progress over here!"
The two nurses in the lab shared looks of glee upon hearing the news and prepared to extract another round of blood samples from patients that afternoon.
