Her chest tightly constricted, Tara Summer took two laborious steps forward, finding Liam Yancey already standing in front of her.
"Let's go," He grabbed her wrist, his voice raspy. Tara gazed into his cold eyes as she tried to pry his hand off with her other hand.
A flash mirrored in Liam's eyes, a strange sensation blossoming within his heart. He smirked, pulled her close and walked away.
Two guards hastened to follow closely behind...
Liam had his own sleeping chamber in the palace located in the southwest. A dense forest spread out before it, with towering trees crisscrossing and lush greenery that never withered all year round.
Looking out from the chamber, one could see an expanse of green. The sunlight refracted between the trees in a mottled pattern, running along the branches, full of vitality.
Even now, in the summer season, bird songs could be heard, clear and melodious.
