The hospital room fell into silence for a moment, with only the drip-drip sound of the machines audible, each beep striking at the heart.
Clarence Simons lifted his head after an unknown length of time, gazing at Tara Summer's back. Just as he thought to comfort her with a few words, the door to the room suddenly opened.
Clarence Simons turned his head and saw Walter Schmidt walk in. The man had a handsome, icy countenance and a tall, tense frame that exuded a chill.
"Walter Schmidt..." Clarence Simons frowned and uttered a greeting.
Walter Schmidt looked up and slightly furrowed his brows upon seeing the two people in front of the hospital bed, speaking in a deep voice, "You're here to see her?"
Clarence Simons nodded, watching the man's expression, cold and devoid of warmth, at a loss for words.
