Emily Stone stared at her for a long while and finally couldn't help but laugh out loud, nodding, "Okay, okay, I got it! I'll make an exception for you this time!"
As they spoke, both of them started laughing.
Afterward, Sally Davis hurriedly went to pick out a gown for Emily without even taking off her evening dress. She chose a little black dress with thin straps.
Emily didn't go into the fitting room to try it on, she just held it up to herself. With her slender and standard figure, wearing it wouldn't be a problem.
At checkout, Sally insisted on paying for it, leaving Emily feeling quite embarrassed, as if her gift hadn't been given at all!
Then, the two of them went to pick out high heels, and it was already past eight by the time they left the mall.
The temperature outside wasn't cold that evening. Sally drove her convertible sports car, heading towards the suburbs.
