Chereads / The Seven Deadly Me / Chapter 19 - The Plan WRATH

Chapter 19 - The Plan WRATH

10 more hours until midnight. "So this is the plan!" I was talking to myself to put everything on a row for one more time. "First I need a weapon, unfortunately a knife is the best weapon I can use." I wished I had a sword, but I took the knife anyway.

"Second thing I need to worry about are witnesses. It will be dark, but I have to guarantee nobody will suspect me. First of all, I could never wear the colthing I will wear again, so I gotta choose some clothing that are not my size, but still easy to move freely in." There was a black coat and some black pants in the closer, they where oversized but acceptable.

"If someone remembers my face I'm done for so I will need something to hide it. Luckily I already thought about it. I could use my earth magic to make a stone mask." I sat down on my bed and tried to create a stone mask. It was a very simple mask with vampire teeth. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘥𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘩. Something caught my attention though. I could not pick up the mask even with all my strength, but I could lift it with a blanket around it. Actually I could tilt it with my hands, but only if I use mana. It was like it ignored my fiscal contact.

The timer told me 9 more hours to go. "So when I get there I have to make sure I win. First I have to know where he works." I searched in his room and looked at the silver spatula at the wall. It was a prize for cook of the year and Martin placed second. "Impressive." I searched in his closet and found some man clothing and cheff clothing. I checked one the cheff outfits and found Martin's name plus the name of the restaurant, "Major Tastes." "Gotcha! So now I know the restaurant, I have to find it's location."

I hid the knife and mask inside my coat and searched outside for Major Tastes. It was not to hard to find it though, because there was only one shopping street. It had a hospital, barber, optician, convenience store, motel, jewelry, library and Major Tastes. I looked around and found a time teller above the motel. "7 more hours huh? That's enough time to complete my plan."

"First I need a good spot..." I saw two soldiers walking around, both had red suites. "So I'm not safe here thats for sure. The house would be to far away. I won't make it in time if I wait there." I started to think. The only safe place would be in an alleyway. "How would i get him in a..." than I knew the answer. "One of Martin's weaknesses is that he is to nice and naive. If I just make something up like, 'Martin I found something follow me,' he would be confused, but he would follow me. Then I can stab him in the back. Yea that sounds kinda dark, but I'm a demon after all. That's just what I am right? A murderous demon."

I checked an alleyway. It was a alleyway with a corner and continued further left. The alleyway ended in a dead end. "I can bait him in this alleyway and fight him here."

And then there was one more thing left to do. "How should I fight him?" I stared to use all my imagination with the four magic types I could use. "I can blind him with light magic and just stab him. No to risky. The first stab is smart, but I have to be sure he won't dodge, block or counter me." I only had fire, water and earth to end with. "Light would be useless for anything else. Water not be very useful in this fight as well. Fire could burn him, but it is to slow and it will make it to hard for me to stab him, if I don't wanna burn myself. So my last option is earth magic. I could use earth magic to trap his feet in the ground and strike him. Oh right he can use fire magic. If he threw some of his fire to me, I was done for. Okay think, think. He can use fire, but his should not use it, if I want my victory. I could bend his fire, but I don't know how much power he has, that would be to risky. Wait...!" I hand palmed my face when I thought of this idea. "Water magic could extinguish fire magic right? If I block all his fire attacks with water, I will be good to go!" I was finally confident enough to make this plan real.

I went back to the shopping street and looked at the time teller. "5 and a half hours Martin, 5 and a half hours and you will be dead.

After I ate something back at Martin's place, I went back and took my position. "It's time." I saw Martin leaping to me and he noticed me as well. "Time to put a fake face on." I made a panicked looking face and ran to Martin. I also forced hyper ventilation, he had to know there was no time. "Ready-set..." 𝘎𝘰! I ran to Martin.

Martin looked shocked down when I grabbed his arm. "Hey Stan, whats wrong little fella?"

I pulled his arm and yelled, "we gotta hurry Martin!"

Martin was confused and said, "hey, hey. Calm down kid and tell me whats wrong."

"We don't have time! Follow me!" I ran to the alleyway and Martin started to follow me. 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘦𝘥. 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.

"Hey wait up!" Martin yelled and hasted after me. He actually followed me all the way to the dead end. 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵.

I used magic to make the mask stay on my face and turned to Martin. I pointed one hand to Martin.

"Wait wha...?!"

"Light!" I interrupted Martin's sentence, but nothing came out of my hand.

"...What?" Martin still finished his sentence, but he was confused of the anti climax.

"Huh?!" The light magic did not cast at all. 𝘖𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘯𝘰 𝘯𝘰!

"You know, you can only use light magic when you have good intentions, right?" Martin said looking at the ground. His look seemed dark and empty. It was a face with a lot of different emotions. It was sadness mixed with hatred mixed with betrayal mixed with loneliness. "This means you had no intention of doing something good, huh?"

"..." I did not know how to react, he seemed kinda scary that way and I needed to think of a back up plan.

A tear rolled on Martin's cheek. He used his whole hand to whipe the tear off and looked at me with that terrifying glance. "I thought we were friends Reuben." He called me Reuben instead of Stan. His hands started to change red. "But you are no good at all... You will never be called 'my son!" He pointed both hands to me and fire started to rush at me.

I pointed my hands out of panic to the fire and it started to move.

"I knew you were strong. I knew from the beginning that, you're very special Reuben." His terrifying look did not change at all. It was like he was not scared of me controlling his magic. Or maybe he was not scared to lose his life.

I fired the fire magic back at Martin, but it went straight trough him. 𝘍𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯...?!

"Don't you know Reuben? Everyone is invulnerable for his own magic. My fire won't hurt me." He shot two more fireballs at me and I threw both of them to my sides.

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦?! I looked around me, but Martin was nowhere to be found. I smelt smoke above me and saw another fireball coming right from above. I was lucky the stone mask blocked the fireball.

"It was you wasn't it?! You killed your father!" Martin said that while flying using fire, he had to scream to make me hear him. "This spell is called 'jetarms!' Impressive huh!" He kicked the air and two fireballs flew out of his feet.

I blocked both fire balls. "What about the part that fire magic does not effect you?!" 𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵? But that was when I saw the gloves.

"These gloves where my father's! He was a knight! I put them on when you where distracted! I use the pressure on the gloves to fly!" The gloves were made of chain mail, so that the fire could flow trough it.

𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵? 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦. 𝘐𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘩𝘪𝘮. I used water to break his jet. Martin fell on the floor. I used earth magic to bound him in stone. 𝘐 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘻𝘻𝘺. I dropped the mask before I would pass out and it sqaushed on the floor.

"Well played Reuben. I knew I could not defeat a demon," Martin said. His despaired look meant he gave up.

I eased it up and asked, "how did you figure?"

"I am tall Reuben. I have seen those scars on your head. One girl screamed that you are were a demon."

"Who did?!" Nobody can know about it.

"I'm not sure and even if I knew, I would never tell you." I had my guesses that it was Katelyn, but I had no time to kill her today anyway.

"Can I ask you how you lost your horns?" Martin asked still laying on the floor unable to move.

"My fake father cut it of!" I said out of anger.

"He did good. A demon with its horns is to strong for a human."

"How come?"

"Your mana should be running out by now huh?"

"Yes..." 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴.

"That would've been no problem at all when you had your horns."

"Huh?" I did not knew what he ment by that.

"Hehe... just finish me already, before you change to the blue Reuben." Martin was prepared to die. I did not know why he did not beg for his life, but he probably had his reasons.

"Farwell Martin." I picked one of Martin's knifes and pushed it in his heart.

"Killed by my own knife. What a honor." He closed his eyes and I stood back up.

𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯. I did not fell any emotions of killing him. 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣. I made a rock and slammed it to my head to feel something. "Oh right..." The rock ignored me and it fell on the floor. I felt like I was fading away. 𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘳.
