Chapter 1 - Hi and Goodbye

The heavy breathing filled the room. Two figures stood hunched over what appeared to be an operating table, watching. Waiting. Waiting for the man to rise, or for him to jump to life. Yet nothing. The room they stood in was dull, with white metal walls surrounding them. The clacking of shoes on the concrete floor was almost unbearable after hours of focus.

"Alright, he is stabilized. Edna, what information do we have on Mr. Creed?"

It hit her suddenly, and she began to remember. Yes, that's right, Mr. Creed was an important asset. Whether he would be after this is to be determined. He was on the M42 space mission to study the space rocks in the Earth's atmosphere, causing meteor showers to decorate the planet's surface within only a month of being left unchecked.

"Get a blood test and meet me back at the base," said Edna.

"Yes, ma'am," a more sheepish voice immediately shot out in response.

Audrin dashed out of the room, wasting no time under such conditions. A short while later, the door burst open with Audrin bursting through. He was out of breath, visibly having to run quickly down those damned halls. It was clear this was urgent, and that time was valuable.

"What do we do now?" he asked, slowly returning to the table side.

"I guess we will send off this blood sample," said Edna, grabbing it and hastily making her way out of the room. Audrin barely got a word in before the large metal door slammed behind her, giving off a click that echoed throughout the room.

A choke filled the room suddenly, coming from the operating table.

"I think he's waking up. Hurry, get the chart!" Audrin barked to the other man in the room.

"Mr. Creed, are you alright, sir?" Dell asked, hovering a hand over his face.

"Huh… wait. what.. no wai… wai–" he uttered, struggling to comprehend the situation. "Where the hell am I?"

"Officer Dell and Professor Audrin at your service, Mr. Creed," Audrin informed, his hands clasped behind his back.

"Alright, where is the director Edna? I must talk with her immediately!" The man attempted to sit up but was sent back down in an instant from the pain across his body.

"Sorry, you missed her. Unfortunately, your injuries since the crash aren't relatively stable. So we must ensure you stay here and heal," said Audrin.

"Crash?!"

"Yes, sir, you were on the I.S.S., and an asteroid hit you while you were on a spacewalk, and you crashed on Earth. It's a miracle that you are still alive."

Still dazed and confused, Mr. Creed uttered back a response, "Miracle…right."

"RUN, RUN, RUN!" he suddenly heard. "He's not human anymore. Somebody help me! Please! I-I can't bloody move anymore. It's controlling me, it's controlling me!"

He grabbed ahold of his head, the distant voices still calling to him in the back of his mind.

"Ah! My head is killing me!" Mr. Creed laid back, his head throbbing. Was this a concussion? No, it felt much deeper- as if it was eternal.

"Sir, are you alright?" asked Audrin concerningly, he offered a hand to the man, trying to be comforting.

"I'm fine… I'm fine," he replied, "it's just my head."

Then it hit him, a sudden hunger, as though he had been deprived of any sustenance for an eternity. Seeing Audrin's hand offered to him- it felt less like a nice gesture and more like an invitation. An invitation to feed.

"Do you…have any food?" Mr. Creed asked, turning away. He felt his intestines twist and turn, pain rivaling all common sense.

His body began to morph into a giant mass composed of organs and flesh, consuming all within its path.

"Are you alright, Mr. Creed? You don't look so hot, and your hair is starting to–"

Then his voice was cut short. Dell began to shake, his eyes widening and his mouth unleashing a blood-curdling scream.

"HOLY SHIT, CODE ZERO, CODE ZERO. CREED IS ON THE RUN, HE JUST ATE AUDRIN!"

Creed looked about, Audrin was gone. Then he saw himself, a massive tumorous amalgamation, a monster. He begged God within his mind, racing through his thoughts. What did he do to deserve this? Why? He desperately wanted his body back.

"Give me back my body. Give it back. Please."

He mourned in silence, grieving at his current state, his humanoid body gone, replaced by an inhuman amalgamation from Hell. However, he heard a distant voice in the back of his mind.

"Well, you seem a bit confused. Perhaps I will jog your memory."

Another voice picked up. A familiar voice. Familiarity felt all too painful in a world of confusion right now, and yet this voice was far too real to subside. He focused, just for this one moment, and acted as if he wasn't in terrible pain.

"Oh hey, Creed. How is it going, bud?" The voice came before the visions, and when the visions arrived, Creed could feel as if he was in that scene in of itself.

"Man, Andrew, I'm just not feeling too good since coming in contact with those organisms. Are you sure it was vacuum sealed?" Creed recalled that feeling. He was queasy, and at first it seemed like a small case of the flu, perhaps. But as time passed, it was almost as if Hell itself was having a rave in his gut.

"Well, it should have been," Andrew replies, a small hint of confusion still in his tone.

"I'm just going to get some sleep, I feel…drowsy."

The vivid and clear voices disappear, instead being replaced by an ominous tone, commanding him a deep and intimidating voice.

"Eat. Eat. Eat."

"What's happening? Where am I?"

"Hello there, vessel."

"Who are you? Why are you calling me a vessel?"

"Because you are my vessel."

"I am not."

Yes, you are.

"Who the Hell even are you? Where the Hell am I? What is this?"

So many questions, calm down. Who am I? Hm, I don't think I can give you a correct answer for that. Not just yet," The voice taunted, before it's voice snapped into a commanding tone.

"Listen closely, vessel, your puny intellect is incapable of fathoming the truth of this universe."

"I guess I can offer you my powers for your subservience, human.

And the fact you can't survive with your current capabilities-"But Creed interrupts it's speech, anger rising in his tone.

"That's not what I asked. I said-"

"Zip it that's enough out of you, human you will do as you're told. Now, get out of my sight. I don't have time to talk to someone who isnt even aware of what this universe is holding within its dark, absorbing clutches. Alright, that's enough chat goodbye."

"Creed pants as he wakes up from a nightmare."
