She sat up reading the book she held... She felt sleepy but she just couldn't sleep, she had to wait for Mr Arnold.
It was around eight in the evening when she heard a knock on her door..
(Knock)
It interrupted her thoughts she quickly turned to the door.
It's not locked, she replied looking who it was.
It's Ann, she said as if waiting for confirmation before she came in.
Please come in.. Jenna gently kept the book she held on the side table, and stepped out of bed walking to Ann.
Mr Arnold asked that I informed you of his arrival. She paused as she noticed the look on Jenna's face.
Are you okay? She asked looking concerned.
Are you in trouble?, hope you didn't get on Mr Arnold's bad side? .. she asked just then Jenna balmy gazed at her
Tell me, is he that scary? One could tell she was so scared hearing the questions asked by Ann, 'bad side' most especially, was he that hard on the servants?, where are his siblings and parents? Many questions ran through her mind.
Just avoid getting on his bad books Ma'am. She blinked, her eyes went on Jenna's Lingerie.
You wouldn't wear them to go see him, would you? She raised a brow.
Mm.. she looked down to the lingerie she wore, checking if it were torn or something really was wrong with it.
Shouldn't I?..Jenna glanced back at her.
No, you shouldn't. You're his personal Maid, you should dress like one. I'll get you a pair of this, she peered down pointing to the dress on her.
O..okk..Kay she stuttered
I'll take my leave, I'll be back shortly. Lady Ann calmly said and went out of the room.
What is this place?.. heaven?, certainly there isn't this Grumpy man up there, why does everyone respects and feared this man so much, was he a Demigod?, or a prince? Why was he the only person living in this huge mansion.
Doesn't he have a family or any sibling?
He should feel lonely having no one around.
He's a nice man, he brought me to safety, and I'll surely repay the favor.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock.
She benignly opened the door.
Got the dress, change into this and come meet him downstairs. She placed the dress on the bed. Jenna just watched her movements without a word.
Hey! Get ready!! ..Ann chuckled looking at her confused face.
I'll leave you now, she gave a gracious smile as she exit the room.
Jenna took the dress to the changing room and slipped into it, she twirled looking at her reflection in the big designed mirror that was in front of her.
She wore a black short sleeveless top, attached with a beautiful white apron tied around her wrist, a white bow tie was around her neck and a flowered band was on her hair . The gown was beautifully designed, it was a French Maids dress, the dress was on her thigh's length .
She look little in that dress, she wasn't that tall, she was white skinned, slim, gorgeously beautiful, with her long brown hair tied as a bun , leaving two strands of hair on both edges of her forehead , she was physically endowed, curvy, her glittered skin looked really soft and fragile.
She had attractive red thin lips. Jenna was a sweet placid lady in her early twenties, she grew up in a foster home, and was later adopted by an old lady whom was in her late sixties, she saw herself as a burden to the old lady so she ran away in search for a job, then it landed here in LA.
Jenna was so fragile, and levelheaded all through her life. She was often bullied while growing up there at the foster home, her voice alone was so melodious, soft and tender.
Lastly, she slipped her fragile feet into the flat shoes before her. She glanced back at the Mirror to confirm she were ready , she sighed ,satisfied with her look she headed to the door.
She carefully walked down the stairs, hoping not to slip again. Her eyes scanned the beautiful sitting room, as she spotted a figure, sitting comfortably on the couch.
It was Mr Arnold, he sat reading a book, as he crossed his leg above the other.
She noticed he had cut his hair to the level of his neck. He trimmed his beautiful dark lovely hair, now short to reaching his jaw level. The middle of his hair were divided into two parts
His hair fell on both sides, covering both of his ears, strands fell to his face giving him that God Damn look.
He hadn't changed, he was still charming as ever.
She stepped on the last stair case.. carefully walked to him..
Ss..sir, she began, Mmm..M..Mr ..Aaa...Arnold...she stuttered
He slowly turned to her, when she immediately kept her eyes down to the floor, averting his gaze. This was something she hadn't done before, she learnt it from the servants, each time they spoke to Mr Arnold, they dared not look directly at him.
What was in those eyes that people feared? That, she didn't know but now he was his personal maid, she didn't want to be different from the rest.
Besides, Lady Ann told her all she needed to know, so as not to get on Mr Arnold's bad books.
He noticed the new changes, he chucked inwardly. Who taught her that?.. he thought.
And clearly waved the thoughts away immediately he saw what she was putting on.
He looked up to her, and slowly looked down to her feet and then, up to her face again.
She knew he needed explanations. So she spoke up. Aaa..and this, I got it, since I'm your personal maid ..i..i.. I had to dress up as one. She said carefully, as if she was explaining to a scolding father why she'd played out on in the rain.
Not minding what she said he looked back to the book he read as he took minutes to respond.... You're late for your duties, it's 8:02, I ought to be given dinner at about 8 o'clock... he said to her as his eyes were fixed on his book, he didn't for once gaped.
Thoughts following through her mind, she was so scared, his voice was deep and cold, she thought that he was going to ask her to leave for this one mistake she made. Tears welled up in her eyes, why didn't she keep to time, she caused.
She tried holding the tears but she couldn't, immediately she blinked, a single tear rolled down her cheek.
I..I waited, I waited for you to return, but I was carried away. She quavered
Arnold upon hearing her Quavering voice, he was stunned. Was she..? Was she crying?.. he Slowly Gazed at her.. when she quickly fixed her eyes down to the floor as she did some minutes ago.
Arnold wondered what he said that might have made her cry.Was he that cold and harsh?, why such a trembling voice?, who was this girl. She was so quick to cry.
Arnold tried recalling if he said something to her that would make her cry.
She was so.. he didn't know the right word that would fit in.
She snuffled. I..I..I'm sss..sorry, I..I'm just ttt..two minutes late.. Her voice quavered as it became unsteady.
She quickly wiped her tear with the back of her palm, but it didn't stop more tear from rolling.
Arnold for the first time had a crack at his heart, upon seeing her tear. What was happening to him?
For years he hadn't felt such a thing. Who was this girl? He asked himself, as he looked at her face as if he was searching for answers to his question.
I.. she paused when she was called off.
Don't...He paused
Stop doing that.. he continued, he tried to be soft, but he just couldn't. That wasn't him, Arnold had no feelings, Arnold felt no ones Paīn, he was cold, he didn't care how hurtful his words were each time he spoke to anyone. But not to this girl.., he really tried hard, finding the right words to use so he wouldn't hurt her and make her cry.. seeing those tears did something to his body, which he just couldn't explain.
No wonder every servant tried not to be in his bad books.. he was so cold.
I..I.. I'll just go get dinner... she snuffled, and hurriedly left before he said a word. He just looked at how she walked from a distance, he then peered down to the book he held.
She went to the kitchen, which took her a while to her there, because of how huge the house was.
After some minutes she came back with a stainless trolley with iron steel , she rolled it to the dinning room.
She carefully placed the different dishes on the table, placing the table mat in place and putting a wide white glass plate on it.
She placed, the juice jar, fruit bowl, scoop spoon. All in place.
She then walked to where he sat.. Mr Arnold.. she called as she stood three steps away from the couch.
