Chapter 14 - Back in this World

One more day passed. Raizen now had his own house, a VR capsule installed in it, and a valid ID.

Natasha also converted some of the gold into credits. So, Raizen now had millions of credits in his bank account. Now, Raizen was ready to create his own account and play Reverie from scratch, peacefully.

Raizen opened a compartment of the VR capsule. It was an empty space with many tubes inside. Raizen placed packets of red liquid inside it.

Usually, normal people placed blue-colored nutrient fluids in that compartment. The nutrient fluids can sustain the human body without food and water for weeks or months.

But Raizen placed packets of blood inside just in case he stayed too long inside the game.

After checking everything, Raizen entered the VR capsule. He had already installed Reverie and paid 840 credits that would allow him to play the game for a year.

Players should pay 70 credits beforehand to play the game for a month. The capsule's door closed as Raizen heard the familiar robotic voice.

'Iris scanning….Iris scan complete…..Welcome Raizen Einr' Raizen heard the AI's voice.

Raizen was in a blank space. There was an empty dark void everywhere around him. He looked around curiously. There was an empty altar in front of him.

Raizen moved towards the altar. Ripples spread across the ground as he walked toward the altar. After entering the altar Raizen noticed a bowl of water in the center of the altar.

Raizen moved towards the water and like he read beforehand, took a portion of water and drank it.

[Successfully drank drops of water from the River of Eternal life. You are now undying]

[Due to an unknown ancient curse, every time you die, you lose 10% experience and some items]

As Raizen was seeing these notifications, a 3D projection of himself was projected out of the bowl.

It looked identical to himself. Silver hair, silver eyes, well-developed muscles but compact muscles.

[Would you like to change your appearance by 5%?]

"No" Raizen replied.

[Please pick a name for your character]

'Hmmm?' Raizen thought about a name hardly.

'Raizen…Zen. Yeah, Zen sounds like a nice name' Raizen thought as he entered Zen as his name.

[Welcome player Zen to Reverie. You are assigned 5 free stat points and gain an extra 5 for every level]

'Status' Raizen thought.

'So it's even worse than the one I played beforehand. I wonder how slow this body will be?' Raizen thought, wondering how weak he would be.

[Choose your starting place

Syrup town

Orange County

Willow village

Arcot village]

'According to the so-called guides I read, one should be careful when choosing the starting village because it limits the kingdom you could operate in the early stages of the game.

And according to the guides, most of the starting kingdoms would be controlled by a guild by now. What should I choose? Natasha told me to choose Arcot village as the area she controls is near the Azov kingdom, which controls the Arcot village'

After some thinking, Raizen chose Arcot village. He didn't care much about his starting village. So why not be near someone you know.

[Congratulations on your endeavors, adventurer. Bear in mind the distribution of stat as it could determine the range of classes you could choose from]

Raizen also knew this. At level 10, you need to choose a class from a range of classes based on your stat distribution.

Raizen's consciousness descended from the dark void, went through clouds, and landed on a male body. The body was nearly identical to his real appearance.

'I am back in this world' Raizen thought with a smirk, feeling the familiar sensations of slugginess and weakness.

Using the guide as a preference, he did all sorts of trivial quests and started to level up.

Nearly a day passed IRL as Raizen hunted monsters, and did some quests which meant Raizen spent 2 days in Reverie.

One hour in the real world means 2 hours in Reverie. So, the powerful vampire who lived for hundreds of years started the process of grinding.

As Raizen was back in the town after some hunting he suddenly bumped into a soldier in armor. It was a familiar face.

"Sorry adventure, I am in a hurry so please forgive my clumsiness earlier" he also heard that familiar dialogue.

"It's okay Alben" Raizen said with a laugh.

"How do you know my name?" Alben asked with a frown. He gripped his hand on his weapon.

"???"

[Affinity with the NPC name Alben decreased by 5]

Raizen saw the notification. After staring at Raizen for a bit, Alben left muttering something about not everyone being kind like the female he met a few days back.

Raizen started at the back of the soldier Alben for some time and thought.

'Sigh, humans of this world are also weird and hard to read'

He already knew that the village he chose, Arcot village, was also the village he was previously in when he played in one of Natasha's accounts.

Raizen wandered around the village hoping to buy a weapon. He understood how important weapons were while hunting that boar.

He just needs a decent weapon since he already had a decent armor and other accessories.

With that, he could hunt a powerful monster and pick up something valuable from its loot. Maybe even a powerful weapon or armor.

'I wonder how much I should pay to have a blacksmith forge a weapon for me or maybe I should become one' Raizen thought.

Well, he wasn't very convinced of the idea of becoming a blacksmith. He had tried it once, blacksmithing takes immense concentration and is a tedious job.

Concentration, that he has but after a while he would become bored. Blacksmithing is for someone who is passionate and he is clearly not passionate.

As Raizen was looking for a weapon to buy, one of the weapons caught his eyes. It was like his sixth sense was telling him to buy the weapon.

He moved towards the shop and inspected the weapon. It was a shiny spear. The spear tip was very sharp and glistening. There were patterns of waves drawn on the spear handle.

Raizen checked the description of the spear.

[Shiny Spear

Rating: Rare

Ownership required for further details]

"Is anyone there, I would like to buy it" Raizen shouted. After a few seconds, a man came from inside the room.

He had neatly combed hair coupled with round spectacles which made him dignified. Even his clothes differed from all the other people as they were clean and costly.

He had white hair and unlike Raizen's natural white hair, this was one of old age. Raizen noticed something interesting as the man came into the light of the sun. He had pointed ears.

Raizen saw question marks on the top of his head.
