Chereads / Monster Reign / Chapter 6 - In search of book

Chapter 6 - In search of book

"This seems to be an upgraded one, not killed even after attacking so much" I was preparing myself as the living dead approached us, with a hole in the middle of his body.

"But how can we kill a dead one?" this was also correct by Kevin but whatever the logic behind this, we have to stop him.

"Cool! Upgraded one, I am going to call this L1" Adam proved to be a cheerful man, though not at the right time.

"Seriously? Naming this nasty thing? Well, I have got an idea. Why don't we hang him on the wall?" We couldn't understand Kevin's idea, "Collect all the sharp and piercing objects and pass them through this dead first and then immediately to the wall"

We nodded and did the same as Kevin told us. He wasn't killed but at least he won't disturb us now. We laid on the bed. Just then we heard someone growling. We looked back lazily and instantly got up as we saw the L1 coming out of the trap, and he did come out. His half body was finished, but still, he wasn't completely dead. Adam's patience was over by now. He picked up a knife and hit him in the head. The body fell and melted. Finally, it was over.

"Do the dead ones have the brain as their most important organ? Because I thought they have no brains" Adam was surprised to notice this.

"Same here, but anyway, now we know how to kill L1s".

"We have a few hours left before sunrise. We need some sleep" I suggested.

"Guys, can we sleep together?" Kevin asked, nervously. I and Adam smiled while hiding our faces.

"Of course!"

Sunlight coming through the window woke me up. It was morning. I woke up others too. I was still sleepy. "So what's the plan ahead?".

"Move on", Kevin told as he prepared himself.

"Let's search the reception desk, maybe we can find something there".

We went to the reception and searched the desk. We found a brochure of the hotel there. We were in Dubai, UAE! So after getting to know where are we, our mind was free of thoughts, and we didn't know what to do now.

"Remember the book 'Yudhyate'!" I exclaimed with excitement.

"Yudh- what?" Since Adam was not with us at the time we found out about this, he sat there with a confused face.

"We will tell you later about that. Kevin, you remember, you told me it is somewhere in India. We can go there to find it"

"Yes, I do. But how where exactly it is in India? And how are we going there? It will take months to reach there" Kevin asked.

"Speedboats will help us. We just have to take extra oil and resources with us. And we will think about the location of books after reaching India".

"But I don't wanna walk, any other way?" Adam was striving for water.

"So why don't we drive that?" I pointed to the super cool Porsche 911 standing in front of a villa. Looks like the owner of this villa is very rich. We went near the car and were mesmerized by the car's design. I was feeling the luckiest of all three because only I knew how to drive! I sat on the seat and the feeling was amazing. I forgot about everything happening in the world and was elated to drive it. But first, we have to see where we need to go. We took a map from a store and tried to comprehend it to find out where are we and where should we go. We kept our thoughts forward, with uncertainty and not willing to believe anyone but after some time we reached a common conclusion. Finally, I started driving and in no time the car moved at top speed. I was enjoying every moment of it. But the living deads were coming in our way now and then. But do I care? Of course not, I trampled over them with my car (It is mine now, you can't deny that). We followed our discussed directions but ended up being wrong many times before we saw a signboard giving us the direction for the coastal area. I rushed my car in the direction shown. And things happening there were not at all normal. Monsters and living deads were enjoying themselves just like humans, partying under a shed, surfing and doing all the beach activities. It wasn't easy to digest but that was that. We hid in the bushes to plan how we will take a boat unnoticed. I recommended taking a larger boat so that we can carry oil, supplies and important resources with us with ease. Though this was just an excuse for I wanted to take the car with me, after all, who would leave such a beast forever, and Adam found this out and being a bad friend he told Kevin about this. They were fine with this even though looked discontented. So this is the plan -

"We need to keep all the stuff in the car. Then Adam will go towards that ship, attentively and check if it's free of trouble. If it is, then wave your hand and make a way for us to enter the ship. We will ride the car quickly to enter the boat without being caught. And then, off to India. Most probably this would work if we are lucky or else here again for plan B"

We kept the oil and stuff expected to be used in the car and I and Kevin sat in the car while Adam proceeded toward the ship. After some time he waved his hands and also opened a gate of the ship for us to enter. We were lucky this time. I drove at full speed, monsters started to chase us but we made it just by some seconds. 2-3 entered along with us but Adam killed them with his sword.

"Oh, I forgot about this. You still carry it?"

"Yeah, even I forgot about this but it was with me the whole time" Adam gave an embarrassed smile.

"Why you didn't use it when the living dead attacked us, especially me, in the city?" Kevin yelled at Adam.

"I told you, I forgot about it" Adam tried to defend himself but Kevin was still staring at him angrily.

I tried to cool down the heat and made them realise that the ship was yet to be started. But who knew how to operate a ship? We went to the cabin and tried to start it and it did. We could relax now. We periodically took the duty to keep a check on our route and the situation and the other two slept during that time. We didn't know if we were going in the right direction, we were relying on a map kept in the cabin. After 17 days, after going in the wrong direction many times, we reached the coastal town of India, Goa. We were suffering from extreme sea sickness. We decided to take some rest before moving any further. The situation here too was pathetic. The most surprising was we didn't see any monsters or living deads. Then we woke up and thought about where we needed to go now. We had no idea. Before that, we took out all the stuff and the car.

Then Kevin came up with a suggestion, "This kind of thing will most probably be found in a museum, a very grand, famous and old museum". We had no reason to deny that so we started our research on such a museum and we found some. The first of all was The Indian Historical Museum in Bengaluru, Karnataka. But as we were not familiar with this country we didn't know how to reach there. We searched for a shop where we could find a map of India. After hours we got it. And yeah, it was too far from Goa. We were seated in the car and drove to the place with the map. Finally, after 4 days of driving, we reached the museum. I became very stiff and was hardly able to twist any of my body parts. We entered the museum and first went to the main room. We could find every information there. We three began searching for any data related to the book.
